Snips and Patches of Summer - a journal of Seaside notes of ethereal correspondence - of nano bits of inner voices - virtual and physical, always of the deepest personal touch - of elevated souls, of swooping gulls and crashing waves and other fits of passions and obsessions that are moving gentlefolk to daring displays of opposites:  of their love across all aspects, and also of hateful, hurtful attacks, intruding upon this paradise at the beach… 

 

…paradise it is, glorious summer at it’s height, especially beautiful and entrancing all around this architecturally magnificent seaside city - the white sand alone emanates loving waves of elevated spirit - taking troubled breaths and offering in exchange pure serenity - all upon the fragrant winds of ocean mist.

 

As with the rest of the sphere of happenings all around the globe, just as the warming season peaks, a crashing is occurring as these forces collide - even in this lil bit of paradise, upon the head of the lovely trail through sand and seagrass.  The delightful plaza that provides the vibrant entrance to the many winding and twisting paths through the as yet unspoiled paradise within, this lil spot of serenity is also disrupted daily by the gathering of the self possessed intent on spreading their venom.

 

Two very special lovers have just passed through - longtime partners in many ways; this haven has been a favorite place for them to rendezvous and find themselves in each other.  An essential routine - an obsession of their mutual own that has been vital to their strength and ability to face the many shocks and trials life relentlessly brings.   

 

Unbelievable the attacks they have been weathering together - facing them together for many years, they have grown to be true lovers, in their own special, unconventional way.  Their determination to finally bring their full, beautiful relationship out into the open has, truth-be-told, triggered all of this particular crisis this morning.

Their story is like many, and this first segment of their story within is offered in the genuine, loving hope that not only they, but the many others in their network of growth will surely benefit.  This first glimpse into their lil corner of the elsphere - the underlying and surrounding natural and vital complement to the essential base - is one of the key aspects that affect the the passions and obsessions that move both this awesome seaside space as well as the entire sphere of happenings.

 

Always respectful of their many other “partners,” - they do share the gift for building genuine relationships - they have crafted their own based a depth of love that is fundamental to all that they do and who they are at core - always working together to marshall their very best - and now this.

Other “regulars” are already arrayed around this popular place of convergence, even at this early hour.  As our lovers take the most open route, fully exposed to the plaza at the head behind and the rocky cape just ahead, and of course to the seemingly infinite expanse of breathtaking sea all along side.  Not a day for our usual care - time to let it all out - we have earned this - - - so run their silent, merged thoughts as they steady one another, openly showing who they really are at home with each other in this natural paradise.

In clear line of sight of them, sitting in his cruiser at this early dawn, nestled under the stand of trees at the edge of the beach, the park ranger draws one last satisfying puff of tobacco and flicks the butt out into the sand.  F’k’em - look at them already tromping around - those two lovers heading for the rocks - that usual bunch crowding into the plaza - ugh - another long day ahead w these assholes - would love to run them all over, right now - I could; I should! - F’k’em…

With increasing comfort about their mutual decision to break out, the two pause to make the most of this amazing scene - a longtime favorite of theirs, it has extra beauty and meaning as they admire the play of the rising sun on all elements of the beach.

 

Shifting their gaze from the dance of morning light upon the ocean waves to the entrance area, they immediately note the approach of two all-too-familiar figures.

 

“There is no escape, love - look at them back there, moving from the parking area towards the plaza - together!!”

 

“Incredible - what are the odds? - except that we have asked for it - even invited it - it was time to bring this to a head.”

 

“Indeed - but we need our space, our separation from and away from that madness - we all do these days, but we are fortunately blessed with the capacity to reach and stretch and venture out to gain much-needed perspective on critical matters…”

 

“…thanks, of course, to you and me and all we have built together - a pause within pauses to thank you, my love.”

 

“Right back at you… So do they, they need this view that only comes with love - love across it’s infinite aspects - this is what matters, my love…

 

“…but they are too obsessed to find it - we helped this to happen - let’s see it through - put our full selves on display…”

 

“…oooh that will provoke even more - but it is time - even in this paradise, our beautiful spot, the craziness intrudes - but we did know - we did ask.”

 

"I knew he couldn't leave us alone, but I hoped we'd catch a break, a few precious moments in our favorite spot - look out there, so beautiful this morning.”

 

“That’s just it - it is wonderful here - love this, you, even them, in a way.  We knew all of that - that mine would follow, too - we both knew - and needed this, didn’t we?”

 

“Oh, so much to absorb - and we alway do…”

 

“…that is “us” - we are good at our kind of love, and we know that for sure - so much energy when we are like this - makes us better and more able every time.”

 

“Yes my dear - our loving notes, mixing with all the others all around us in this awesome scene - our inner el voices we always talk about, it’s like they are singing this morning - singing with the wind and the gulls - aaaah, so nice - feeling bold here, sharp and seeing things so clearly - we needed to make something special happen, right here, right now.”

 

“Such a storm - both of them at once - in fact, all of them at once - see them - look - little do they suspect - rushing blindly ahead they are, all riled up, into that hyper bunch that always gathers and stays at the tables - the ones we call the parrots, the chips - always parroting, always with chips on their shoulders - they deserve each other…”

 

“…yes, watch out - they are storming right into that nest of trouble-makers.”

 

“Hey, talk about storms, where’s that daffy ranger? I feel like he is really dangerous - one of those who could actually be triggered to do awful things - all these displays, both careless and intended, push ones like him over the edge.”

 

“Yes - but the thing is that he, and our two, and I suspect most of that usual bunch, they can be every bit as loving as us - when they aren’t so consumed…”

 

“…Indeed, we are all inundated with shows of hurt and attack - even many of our so-called leaders…”

 

“…would-be leaders, you mean - they alway Trumpet their leadership credentials, but the examples they set is fundamental to their kind of leadership - they master their displays of hate and hurt and harm and they rise upon the passions it stirs - such awful examples they set - ones like our ranger actually take that to heart.”

 

“And the rest of that group gets themselves all wound up - unable to fend off venom and ugly noise, they just add to it - their obsession.”

 

“Look at them together, all of them back there - they easily found fellows, even in this awesome place.”

 

‘aaaaargh - we’ve earned this, all of this…”

 

“…and they all need it, all of what we can see - displays of the alternatives.  Come closer love,  turn away for a bit - that will wait and will alway be there - but it’s “we” - “us” - this right here that is so essential, vital.”

 

“Indeed,  this we need to push on - enough of a glimpse for now - let’s seize our moment — love does matter - we, us, all of us need to push back against that madness - let’s keep walking.”

 

Climbing and balancing on the rocks overlooking the beach and endless waves, as they have done many times before, usually alone, but today, this morning, they were beyond themselves, at their own critical point, needing above all else to push their relationship forward.

 

Knowing their strength and vision together, seeking ever more the clarity that only can find together, they press on, taking it all in…

 

A Spiritual Chorus ...

Something about the hissing and shaking of the platform on which hundreds awaited, transfixed - something about the shared feeling of a magnificent and ancient monster approaching - some absolute certainty of their collective mood of excitement and anticipation - altogether they all knew a common, deep touch.

 

Loaded with luggage and gifts, this throng, this host of magi are filled with one of those precious waves of overwhelming shared feeling, this wild mix provoked to display basic instincts and longings.

 

This season of spiritual awakening triggers a heightened mix of responses throughout the vast sphere of happenings, and right here in the rush to renew timeless rituals of remembered blessings and offerings.

 

An alignment of events, holiday and mundane, celestial and temporal, ancient and utterly current provoke breaks from relentless norms.

 

Inner voices, those fundamental life-forces, are emerging and mingling in a dis-jointed chorus.  These essential drivers of all we do, of virtual, ethereal and ghostly form, are taking flight and working their magic.

 

Also shared, as certainly as these bodies rubbing and bumping in rare intimacy, are other awareness, other vibrations in each of their own individual atmospheres - other forces, with them all the time, they are rushing with them, these spirtis, these ghosts the surround and enable and weave and make them into one awesome Whole.

 

Stoked and stoking in rhythm are these masterly sprights, these elsprights, these eternal coalesces of truths, these nodes of understanding.

 

Embodied here in this assembly of revelers, collectively on quests to balance their individual realms with the Whole of their lives.

 

Two in particular have found their way to the very Center of this particular sphere within spheres, trusting instinctively their elevated spirits, their common opening to the state that underlies all.

 

Tis the other realm of our inhabitance, also with us eternally, vital and essential to all that we are, released in sacred flowerings that occur in true mercurial fashion, especially triggered by ancient happenings, holy and primeval both - this one of Solstice one of the most powerful.

 

Uncertain and full of wonder are the workings of this other realm, the natural balance to the everyday.  Such are these flowerings, even in the darkest of times, even amid the gathering chills, even as Haunts and Torments build to their inevitable peaks - especially now this other space in our world return, blessedly.

 

Tis magic for the infinite aspects of unknown spirits of love and hate - the benevolent sprights now emerging in their everlasting quest to save and renew and to complete the Whole - their ethereal notes are rushing, as well.

Theirs eyes closed, minds delightfully adrift, their benevolent ghosts driving away the invaders once again - then Boom! Bam! Flash! Lurch! - they are thrown forward and sidewards, jammed by unrelenting force together, again. 

 

Rudely awakened, sort of, clinging to the delightful haze of their slumber, they recoil from the strange company - except, ooh! each other - we are ok...

 

...a bit of their selves released on impulse - coming more fully awake, they harbor this as they are quickly reminded of the host all around them.

 

Human forms and spirits on holiday, packed like cattle with these two strangers, randomly joined and finally settled amid the special strangeness of it all, now this! 

 

Just met an hour ago, buried in the very middle of the chaos of the urgency to visit loved ones, enclosed by heightened moods all around, their own off-on-off efforts to survive-celebrate-enjoy "the holidays," and this venture within it, are now jolted with all of the others.

In the neverland of minds freed from everyday norms - some magic in the movements of the train and the strange comfort of each other among this mob took hold of them as one - even crammed together in this foreign space, they drifted to the same place - that realm of ghosts swirling at odds, the sweet delights giving way to the ugly demons - even as they are softly bouncing along the rails and into each other, they are  visited by the very same haunts and torments that bother them in their own beds on many nights.  

 

By separate paths entirely, these two holiday venturers have arrived at similar critical points in their life journeys, as well as the same spot on this crowded car.

 

Embodied within them is a full compliment of the disjointed spirits swirling all about them, their advanced progression through joys and sorrows having filled them and beyond to have evolved, now emerging as close with the masters.   Thus, as their journeys merge, their inner elspirits are, in truth, already closely aligned, just awaiting these workings of the eternal high els for them to emerge as one, and in a grand, elevated spiritual chorus.

 

The harbingers of these vital notions interrupted their slumber, provoking visible twists and audible moans, which in turn launched their own missives into the numbing atmosphere of the packed venturers rocking along the rails.

 

Each in their own way, they have faced and embraced happenings far beyond any norm.  Simultaneously they calm themselves - with the same deep breaths and stretches and the same practiced releases of clutter, they recognize their true selves reflected, and accept a shared knowing as they surrendered, together, to a quickly overpowering slumber.

 

A jumble of wily sprights swiftly invaded them both - aligned at core - we’ve endured so many trials - would break most - bold we are to make our own quest this holiday - both of us - mmmm, us - the worst and best fill us at the same time - and now this other one…

 

 

Struck by these new impulses, they braved to open eyes and found themselves in each other gaze - caught staring, frankly, into unmasked reflections of themselves, unaware what touch had turned them face to face - for surely some power greater must be responsible - scarily revealed, they know they share this thought - whew, we read each other, know each other - these, their notes of common voice are dancing openly about them... 

 

...focusing on each other as well as their shared extreme awareness, they are startled to recognize their own look in return.

 

With one spirit they struggle to deny the barks and growls they had emitted as they had pushed and elbowed themselves into these precious seats.

 

Once more their unspoken voices merge, settling deep within, immediately known and welcomed as their very own.

 

With one spirit they longed to resume their other selves, to which they sweetly returned as soon as they drifted off again, full of childhood wonder at the magic of this holiday, of this much needed venture - and sadly, their seemingly inevitable companion, yet another of their selves, those of lost ways - such is the essence of their current state and wild aim of this venture - perhaps, just let go - put some distance between - virtual/nay, physical separation - aahhhh.

 

The power of these thoughts, these vibrations, this rocking and rolling, this bump, that poke - mmmmmm - these wily sprights, so glad you are with me, us…

 

Swaying with the movement of this Christmas train, beautifully allowing in all of these ghosts, magically releasing their demons, rubbing and touching in their heightened slumber, their silent voices join the unlimited realm of els…..

 

Oh the wicked mix - such wily ghosts that visit - delights and frights - him/her too - always the extremes forced upon us as we finally let go - or coaxed out from within - they push back to upright, noting the same mood in each other - these same silent voices also being heard, together.

A nexus such as this amid the chaos sends forth it’s own waves of power and force - the essence of the flowering emergence, pushing back, countering and balancing the pervading noisy and ugly vibrations that dominate our sphere of happenings eternally.

 

In this very rail car, in the sacred season, this vital nucleus is felt as the emanating sprights weave and strike - always preciously brief and awesome in ultimate might, this spiritual chorus of the Whole commands all within.

United and bound in close space and spirit, for the moment, but new surprises are happening - ooh - wee - with all separation of space and mood lifted, they brave knowing smiles, silently marking their shared enclosure and the frantic charge that had, but an hour ago, brought them, unmet, together - and now this new one!

 

Ooh my loves - these ones hear - they see, feel - close with us they are!

 

Already drifting back they are - recalling - revisiting…

 

Freed indeed we are - all us ghosts - flying now, fully charged and emboldened by our growing league - fleeting are our emergences - now there is genuine rarity and extreme precious opportunity!

 

“Hey, watch it!” he had yelled too harshly as she had plopped herself into the seat next to him, elbowing and butting him hard against the wall of the railcar.

 

“What do you expect - you raced me for these seats, and these others were closing in fast to cut me off,” she had responded, but also catching the harshness in her voice.

 

Both noted the simultaneous big, slow calming breaths as they took each other in, chests filling and easing - tense faces relaxing, gathering - silently reading each others’ mood of regret, both searching for something to ease them back into the holiday spirit.

 

Together they looked at the mob still cramming into the center aisle “hey look, up front - a cross between Darth and Clint - holding his position just inside the door, surveying with the darkness of one and grim sneer of the other.”

 

She laughed and pointed the other way, towards the rear of the car “see there, his opposite, like a wizard, like Gandalf, he even has a staff - the picture of gleeful serenity, working his way, touching and hugging into the middle of the crowd - he can’t get thru for for that old couple, they look frightened and unsteady - and for this bunch hovering over us.”

 

“Our torments and other spirits embodied!”  “My how eloquent, sir” she kidded, “but yes, my thoughts exactly!”

 

“We should offer our seats.”  They looked again at each other, again reading the same thoughts - this time of regret of losing these hard-won seats - but both knowing it was the right thing to do.  

 

As they started to rise and gesture - sharped-eyed and super alert, both Darth and Gandalf took note and asserted…

 

Darth - amusing them further with his child-like imitation of a cartoon superhero - but in another of their shared counter-thoughts, also chilling them with his unsteady stare - targeted a dark-skinned young couple noisily chattering in foreign tongue - barking in surprising rich tone “you too, please, speak English - and kindly give those seats to this lady and gentlemen.”

 

Gandalf evenly sung in sweet tones “Thank you so much for offering” gesturing with a kindly wave of his hand as he maneuvered closer “no, sit, you lovebirds enjoy yourselves for the trip,” turning to a group of berka-clad folks seated where he drew close “won’t you join me in the aisle - we’ll have a marvelous chat - and allow these other kind folks to rest…”

Matters settled, faces equally red, they shared full throated laughs.

 

“Lovebirds?!”  “I guess we look that way” “Oh well; we feel better, don’t we?”  “Much” and they gave each other gentle taps.

 

Quieting, calming, peacefully reflecting on how just moments ago they had been part of that mob as the train slowed to a stop, both of them successfully aligning themselves perfectly to be one of the first to enter from opposite ends as soon as the doors slid open.

The atmosphere had been abuzz on the platform as the magnificent shimmer of the train clanged towards them, vibrating with shared spirits, material and otherwise, collectively released and launched in a chorus of inner el voices as this crush of humanity, racing to destinations to give thanks, poised and on extreme edge to pour into the great form the moment she opened herself, their freed selves joining across an infinite range of soulful voices of strength and fragility - inviting in with them the full, vast realm of ghosts across all aspects… 

 

All too rarely do they recognize us and our kin - we are their very life-force, for good and bad, driving, ultimately all they do - we are ghosts to them, unreal and mostly unmet, save for special settings like this - yes, the anonymity of this moment and this total break from what they know as norm will do this…

 

…thus the master spirits, the eternal elevated sprights, they launch their own missives into the throng already being released with the rush into the great carrier, hissing and gasping and clanking to a halt - it’s own break from it’s relentless course…

 

…from all walks they are joined in group - unwittingly and randomly mixed - some noting and others clueless to the shared spirit of urgency, frantic and crazed, carrying them all in mad convergence…

 

look my loves - let’s accompany those two - we sense something special about them -and they unknowingly already know us intimately, poised themselves to burst out in new growth of their vast potential - their elbows at the ready to hustle with the best of them, fully caught in the madness they are - but they are kin to us - aware they are of their state - far more than most - and bothered by their current craze, their weakness, their anger - yet with unrealized range they push themselves - they are truly the intrepids we seek, and need, in all ages - see them trying to calm and center yet failing at both, as yet strangers of shared fury - and determination  to face and overcome - let’s aid them as they launch their own missives - in gentlefolk of such skill and range, our efforts are always warranted…

 

Thus the ancient ones added their voices to these two as they accompanied them into the train - naming them Snarly and Growly for the ugly missives they were emitting and the hurts they were cause all to suffer as they forced their way to the fore and down the center aisle from each end - converging upon this pair of seats from which they now look upon each other - recognizing, silently and powerfully their own inner selves in each other…

ooooh my loves, what a little honest sharing will do - we must add Lovebirds to their natural names - ever do our true names grow…

Snarly & Growler - Lovebirds - Intrepids - where do these notions come from? - look at us - look at this crazy mob - so many forces at play - we don’t even know our names - too crazed bother at first - such a nice state we are in now - our special space within it all… 

 

On that edge between awake and not, strong and fragile, happily revealed and uncomfortably embarrassed - they shared a trance - musing - Breathes and scents pressing into their awakening consciences, grunts and groans much as their own moments ago, and with them other forces less tangible but unmistakeable for the effect upon them both - reminding them…

…With exaggerated false smiles they had been enclosed as they threw themselves into these seats - first one, then more of the onslaught wished both of them a derge of  unfelt hearty good Thanksgiving’s as they pushed passed, not bothering to avoid bashing Snarly with their travel bags…

 

…feeling a common strength, a shared license to release, the last of this bunch, emboldened to flash his inner Glare, aiming it w all his might at Growler as he stopped directly over them, he leaned in hard as he struggled to put his open bag in the rack overhead, spilling contents on both them.

 

look how their demon spirits feed on each other as they spring out… they are not themselves, or are they?  what shall we do?  let them play out a bit - send in a few Stings and Touches to move them along…

 

Thus the eternal ones exchange their notes on the scene, adding to the unseen chorus effecting them all, not just these ones so engaged…

 

So struck w these hidden impulses, both Snarly and Growler - the spirit-names the masters have bestowed for the moment - forever it is with their fellow ghosts, these timeless movers of souls do converse - they had aimed their own grumps at each other as this prolonged entrance had transpired, sinking them further into their shared ugly state.

After their exchanges w Darth and Gandalf, after their joint efforts to let go and recall the higher purpose of this venture, they had settled into their newly made zone.

Now, startled from the serenity they had finally achieved, further shocked to find themselves snuggled close after having revealed so much about themselves, they recoil - another aspect of themselves shamelessly revealed to each other.  And more - they are suddenly hyper aware of a new sensation - of these very same spirits they now share face-to-face filling the packed car all around them - and yet another, like a presence creeping in - panic…

 

Straining as one to see through the mob - now a scream - turning together she grabs his arm “my god, what is happening?!”

 

“Do you feel it or is just me - that things are really ok, but there is definitely something in the air - making all of us react strangely.”

 

“yes, look at how we drew so close while asleep - I was so angry - as were you - but you are right, that’s not like me, and I suspect not like you - but that was a scream - someone really sounded scared.”

 

“There is a commotion near us - look, the people are pushing - no being pushed…”

 

Trusting themselves to act together, unspoken they rise - she all the way up as she is on the outside, shoving back against the onslaught - he wrapping his arm around her waste, lifting himself close next her - pausing to collect himself - finding his strongest, most calming voice - “make way for us”

 

inspired - she invokes her most positive forceful tone “Happy Thanksgiving, Christmas, or whichever holiday you are celebrating - we are standing up!”

 

Inner voices releasing, spirits sharing, tis the eve of the Giving of Thanks...

“Hey, watch it!” he had yelled too harshly as she had plopped herself into the seat next to him, elbowing and butting him hard against the wall of the railcar.

 

“What do you expect - you raced me for these seats, and these others were closing in fast to cut me off,” she had responded, but also catching the harshness in her voice.

 

Both noted the simultaneous big, slow calming breaths as they took each other in, chests filling and easing - tense faces relaxing, gathering - silently reading each others’ mood of regret, both searching for something to ease them back into the holiday spirit.

 

Together they looked at the mob still cramming into the center aisle “hey look, up front - a cross between Darth and Clint - holding his position just inside the door, surveying with the darkness of one and grim sneer of the other.”

 

She laughed and pointed the other way, towards the rear of the car “see there, his opposite, like a wizard, like Gandalf, he even has a staff - the picture of gleeful serenity, working his way, touching and hugging into the middle of the crowd - he can’t get thru for for that old couple, they look frightened and unsteady - and for this bunch hovering over us.”

 

“Our torments and other spirits embodied!”  “My how eloquent, sir” she kidded, “but yes, my thoughts exactly!”

 

“We should offer our seats.”  They looked again at each other, again reading the same thoughts - this time of regret of losing these hard-won seats - but both knowing it was the right thing to do.  

 

As they started to rise and gesture - sharped-eyed and super alert, both Darth and Gandalf took note and asserted…

 

Darth - amusing them further with his child-like imitation of a cartoon superhero - but in another of their shared counter-thoughts, also chilling them with his unsteady stare - targeted a dark-skinned young couple noisily chattering in foreign tongue - barking in surprising rich tone “you too, please, speak English - and kindly give those seats to this lady and gentlemen.”

 

Gandalf evenly sung in sweet tones “Thank you so much for offering” gesturing with a kindly wave of his hand as he maneuvered closer “no, sit, you lovebirds enjoy yourselves for the trip,” turning to a group of berka-clad folks seated where he drew close “won’t you join me in the aisle - we’ll have a marvelous chat - and allow these other kind folks to rest…”

Matters settled, faces equally red, they shared full throated laughs.

 

“Lovebirds?!”  “I guess we look that way” “Oh well; we feel better, don’t we?”  “Much” and they gave each other gentle taps.

 

Quieting, calming, peacefully reflecting on how just moments ago they had been part of that mob as the train slowed to a stop, both of them successfully aligning themselves perfectly to be one of the first to enter from opposite ends as soon as the doors slid open.

The atmosphere had been abuzz on the platform as the magnificent shimmer of the train clanged towards them, vibrating with shared spirits, material and otherwise, collectively released and launched in a chorus of inner el voices as this crush of humanity, racing to destinations to give thanks, poised and on extreme edge to pour into the great form the moment she opened herself, their freed selves joining across an infinite range of soulful voices of strength and fragility - inviting in with them the full, vast realm of ghosts across all aspects… 

 

All too rarely do they recognize us and our kin - we are their very life-force, for good and bad, driving, ultimately all they do - we are ghosts to them, unreal and mostly unmet, save for special settings like this - yes, the anonymity of this moment and this total break from what they know as norm will do this…

 

…thus the master spirits, the eternal elevated sprights, they launch their own missives into the throng already being released with the rush into the great carrier, hissing and gasping and clanking to a halt - it’s own break from it’s relentless course…

 

…from all walks they are joined in group - unwittingly and randomly mixed - some noting and others clueless to the shared spirit of urgency, frantic and crazed, carrying them all in mad convergence…

 

look my loves - let’s accompany those two - we sense something special about them -and they unknowingly already know us intimately, poised themselves to burst out in new growth of their vast potential - their elbows at the ready to hustle with the best of them, fully caught in the madness they are - but they are kin to us - aware they are of their state - far more than most - and bothered by their current craze, their weakness, their anger - yet with unrealized range they push themselves - they are truly the intrepids we seek, and need, in all ages - see them trying to calm and center yet failing at both, as yet strangers of shared fury - and determination  to face and overcome - let’s aid them as they launch their own missives - in gentlefolk of such skill and range, our efforts are always warranted…

 

Thus the ancient ones added their voices to these two as they accompanied them into the train - naming them Snarly and Growly for the ugly missives they were emitting and the hurts they were cause all to suffer as they forced their way to the fore and down the center aisle from each end - converging upon this pair of seats from which they now look upon each other - recognizing, silently and powerfully their own inner selves in each other…

Snarly & Growler - Lovebirds - Intrepids - where do these notions come from? - look at us - look at this crazy mob - so many forces at play - we don’t even know our names - too crazed bother at first - such a nice state we are in now - our special space within it all… 

 

On that edge between awake and not, strong and fragile, happily revealed and uncomfortably embarrassed - they shared a trance - musing - Breathes and scents pressing into their awakening consciences, grunts and groans much as their own moments ago, and with them other forces less tangible but unmistakeable for the effect upon them both - reminding them…

…With exaggerated false smiles they had been enclosed as they threw themselves into these seats - first one, then more of the onslaught wished both of them a derge of  unfelt hearty good Thanksgiving’s as they pushed passed, not bothering to avoid bashing Snarly with their travel bags…

 

…feeling a common strength, a shared license to release, the last of this bunch, emboldened to flash his inner Glare, aiming it w all his might at Growler as he stopped directly over them, he leaned in hard as he struggled to put his open bag in the rack overhead, spilling contents on both them.

 

look how their demon spirits feed on each other as they spring out… they are not themselves, or are they?  what shall we do?  let them play out a bit - send in a few Stings and Touches to move them along…

 

Thus the eternal ones exchange their notes on the scene, adding to the unseen chorus effecting them all, not just these ones so engaged…

 

So struck w these hidden impulses, both Snarly and Growler - the spirit-names the masters have bestowed for the moment - forever it is with their fellow ghosts, these timeless movers of souls do converse - they had aimed their own grumps at each other as this prolonged entrance had transpired, sinking them further into their shared ugly state.

After their exchanges w Darth and Gandalf, after their joint efforts to let go and recall the higher purpose of this venture, they had settled into their newly made zone.

Now, startled from the serenity they had finally achieved, further shocked to find themselves snuggled close after having revealed so much about themselves, they recoil - another aspect of themselves shamelessly revealed to each other.  And more - they are suddenly hyper aware of a new sensation - of these very same spirits they now share face-to-face filling the packed car all around them - and yet another, like a presence creeping in - panic…

 

Straining as one to see through the mob - now a scream - turning together she grabs his arm “my god, what is happening?!”

 

“Do you feel it or is just me - that things are really ok, but there is definitely something in the air - making all of us react strangely.”

 

“yes, look at how we drew so close while asleep - I was so angry - as were you - but you are right, that’s not like me, and I suspect not like you - but that was a scream - someone really sounded scared.”

 

“There is a commotion near us - look, the people are pushing - no being pushed…”

 

Trusting themselves to act together, unspoken they rise - she all the way up as she is on the outside, shoving back against the onslaught - he wrapping his arm around her waste, lifting himself close next her - pausing to collect himself - finding his strongest, most calming voice - “make way for us”

 

inspired - she invokes her most positive forceful tone “Happy Thanksgiving - we are standing up!”

The beloved Hollow - forever a magical landscape of natural beauty - the perfect getaway spot - a destination for lovers all sorts to deliberately lose themselves for a time.  Now, in this season of Halloween and these times of frights and delights of new dimensions throughout our sphere of happenings, comes Change, that ultimate wily spright, flying in witchy form to spook the children of this ancient forest haven with tricks and treats that mirror the antics in the world at large.

 

Grounded at the very Center of this special place upon the occasion of All Hallows Eve  is a very special lady, beautiful across all aspects as befits her bond with this extraordinary place.  Always and forever a child of this ancient forest.  Losing herself wonderfully in images and voices of spirits emerging with the endless shades of shadow and riot of colors of her favorite turn of seasons - she’s seen & heard it all, this lovely barkeep, after a lifetime of living and working all about her her special homeland, the Hollow.

 

But that was a rifle shot, and that a shotgun blast, or were they? - and the drivers laying on those horns are enraged, maybe - omg, there are unmistakeable whoops of laughter and I am sure I hear echoes of unrestrained joy, even ecstasy  - what is going on?  the beautiful air of this perfect Autumn day is abuzz with more shouts & cries & shrieks than ever…

 

Of course frights and delights are what it is all about - what the lovers seek - they want to get lost here - and me with them…

 

And lovers come in all shades and varieties, as well - tis why they have always come here - the inner child in all of us is coming out these days… 

 

But, something is different this year - more than ever are swarming here - new ways upon new ways challenging everything…

 

These notes swirl in her mind, her mood a jumble, yet, true to her way, she embraces the unspoken missives of the elements of this magical spot in full force.  Opening her mind and soul, she allows them to softly enter, and sends them on their way with her own added.  True depth knows no greater magic.

 

She knows deeply the intangibles that have always made this a favorite destination.  Again this year, her soul is merging with this marvelous season of witches and ghosts in a host of forms, lovely and not.   Closing her eyes and allowing the fragrances and sounds of the forest spirits, her very being is one with the lovers who seek to lose themselves in the joys and frights of getting lost in the tangle of paths - but now, this year, as one with the angers and fears of these times, something is amiss.

 

This is a time and place to allow our child-selves to emerge, and they are doing so in full force, driving the virtual conversation, the etherial correspondence that triggers all that actually occurs.  This sacred land within lands is transformed along with all who savor it’s true meaning, emerging itself from a drowsy refuge to the very embodiment of the pervading Change.

Within the trees in front of her, close at hand yet hidden from view, are other mighty ones, closest to her in understanding and appreciation of this special place, motoring into it’s very heart for an annual reunion.  An intrepid couple they are, leading yet another sharing of true, unbounded love across all possible aspects.  Always magical it is when their clan lets go and reveals all in intimate company.

 

With visions of witches and ghosts dancing about them, they blaze their all-terrain thru the fog of late afternoon, dodging the ruts and avoiding the enclosing trees of the mountain road, riding a ghostly torrent of swirling mists, perfect for the approach of All Hallows Eve.

 

“Whew, baby, this gray is alive - like something the witches have cooked up” “he he - ah my love, the witches take all forms - they are right here in full force - with all the hype along all the channels, all the notes of enrage, there will be more spirits here than ever — this will be wicked fun this year” “can the wild claims and reports of real harm be true?” “impossible to tell with so much madness” “well, this has always been the place to bring all that out - behind every tree and in every hidden nook of this sprawling hollowed out spot, lost itself deep within the ancient forest”  “perhaps many are lured by the ghoulishness of the ugly talk itself” “whew baby, indeed”… 

 

…Their exited exchanges - their own notes added upon the twists and turns, comforting and steadying, infusing themselves with strength, as they bounce along, as they return to this haven of lost souls - forever a destination for lovers to beautifully, quietly, peacefully lose themselves for a spell - a spell within spells is now moving in with the witches and ghosts.

 

This Hollow that sleeps no more is transformed itself, now a maddeningly popular resort and favorite hotspot for a new generation to celebrate the frights. 

 

“I hope the others are alright.” “I know, we called them here to indulge ourselves.”  “We still can, but we must be much more careful - even here.”

 

Thru openings in the shadows they glimpse the colors of Autumn at it’s peak, and peer for glimpses of their fellows, their clan that shares everything and means everything, needing badly to disappear together in this maize of paths and dells.

Tis the season of wicked delights - unprecedented numbers converge with our intrepid pair unknowingly at the head of a procession.  They draw on their boundless hope to push away the rumors of genuine frights and refocus on the delights that await.

All the while, throughout the twisted paths of the Hollow, spirits of the extremes of our world at large ride the currents of their champions - anti-champions, really, their form emerging eternally to harness the frightened and weak by stoking their fears, targeting their hate and validating their pre-judgements - riding like bands of Headless Horsemen from the margins and edges of our times, they stoke themselves with their own notes of their very own truths, their own missives of urgency, and rise from their own mists and pour upon their wave of reclamation into the Hollow, as well.

A world within worlds this is, emerging in this season of shadows and colors with a more than full display of all the thrills and horrors of our unearthly times, filling the nooks and dells of this marvelous realm with a boiling and toiling brew that is now primed for explosions.

From the heightened senses of our barkeep above and our intrepid couple within, riding a common wellspring of elevated state, to the full range of elements converging, the inevitable collisions emanate.

 

Even as a wave of spirits from the edge of our sphere descend, other lovers - yes, lovers-at-heart they all are, children of the infinite forest - for each crazed and lost soul there come their counters, many of whom are already nicely lost, in hidden nooks and along twisted paths.  

 

High upon the Promontory, the rise amid the recesses of this landscape, is a gentle assembly, a quite gathering of kindly folk, naturally sharing the spirit of the child of the forest, their notes joining the chorus and chatter…

 

…ignore them, disregard their noise - how lovely it is here, as always, these reports can’t be true - we’ll teach them, we’ll show them, it’s ours and we’re taking it all back - ooh, look at them, listen to them, let’s play with them - what wicked fun, as always…

 

…look, amid it all, those two lovelies driving right into it - and their fellows, so serene at the Center…

 

…yes, and elsewhere, others are bumping and crashing in the shadows and colors, provoking their inner selves to emerge, their spirits to join with all of us, to merge with all of the ghosts inflight tonight.

 

…where do all of these come from, all of these wily sprights?  ah and oh well - so very nicely losing our way are we - glorious is this approach of All Hallows Eve…

 

…mmmm, impossible to resist - fascinating beyond all else - to delve we must!!!

 

…ahhh, so glorious to lose ourselves in the very ether - to hear perfectly the silent, all-powerful chorus - our higher power of infinite mystery and strength…

These notes and more reverberate in the magical atmosphere here at the center of things, concentrated particularly in the very two fellow lovers about whom our intrepid ones on the road muse.

 

Indeed, settled upon the ancient stones - a landscape within the landscape of magnificent craftsmanship, itself unearthly in its’ beauty.  At once unbelievably delicate and wildly eccentric, vast and intimate, the heart of the Hollow, this meandering network of architectural places and spaces is in perfect synergy with all that surrounds.

 

Here, the sweetest of kindly folk, the gentlest of the gentle, are already wonderfully adrift.

 

Serene and bucolic is their mood, fully one with the benevolent ghosts of their beloved Hollow.  Like the grounded and settled fellow sprights, they snuggle and huddle deep in the enormous wooden seats, worn to a caress of softness by years of use.

 

They are perched upon the stone deck, taking in the soft, unreal beauty of Autumn, now broken by faint tremors and sounds out of context with the soothing, magical air and gorgeous views of reds & oranges & yellows.

 

Clinging to their spell, they drink in the fragrance of the Fall foliage, allowing their child-selves to re-assert.  A fresh breeze is lifting the fog and with it they continue to elevate.  

 

But against this delightful re-joining of loving spirits comes a fading.  Unwanted but  unmistakable are intrusions - they “hear” also the unspoken notes, whispering across all elements of the Hollow - felt with an eerie clarity…

 

…a jumbled mix these spirits-voices are, from all walks and aspects they converge, amplified and stoked in this season of child-play…

>> Marvelously wicked are these twists and turns - we are wonderfully lost ourselves and lost in our maneuvering they all are - all about the Hollow - feed their chatter, pour it on…

 

…truth-be-told: Hah!! - that’s no matter in this glorious witch hunt - just add to the frenzy - say what the weak want to hear - launch the notes that work…

 

…especially to those ready to act - push them over the edge - trigger them…

 

…just share the reports - they want to believe - can’t help themselves - they will do our work…

 

…beautiful Autumn haven - Bah! - spooks and ghosts, they are already here - fuel them, stoke them…

 

…perfect Fall day turning to night - glorious seasons pivoting - just let ourselves go - entrust the powers beyond…

 

…children at play everywhere - a wicked playground we live in - embodied right here…

 

…a spooky mixture, for sure - such are our times…

 

…frights and delights indeed - even here the lines are crossed - like the ancient roots that surround - vital, are the elspirits who hold deep and strong…

 

Such are these gentle and mighty ones, Bets and Ben, huddled and snuggled and silently absorbing it all and sharing in return, in the eternal counter balance, the magical chorus of ghosts and witches and other spiritual lovers - such are the forms of the inner voices emerging, the collective inner child.  

 

Viewing this timeless haven, overlooking the tapestry of havens within, they lose themselves in moments of discovery, allowing themselves to cede control of the basic realm of survive and strive and delve into the world of underlying aspects of extremes; strength and serenity merging with weakness and fear, all before them.

 

Immersing themselves in the currents - allowing it all in - ah, courage.

 

Such are the edges of ours sphere.  So are the tangles and twists embodied in this paradise of shadows and colors.

 

Concealed right in front of them, the unmet kin of Ellie, the barkeep, right behind them in the inn, camouflaged perfectly by the elemental effect of their thoughts and of the magic of the forest at this turn of seasons, are Abby and Josh, at this moment glimpsing the bedrock on which their very best friends are ensconced at the anchor point of this vast landscape, briefly illuminated by the setting sun.

 

At other wild points around this sprawling enclave of forbidden things, myriad others mix and match, encounters building upon each other as the magic works it’s own effect, merging ethereal spiders with the flood of spiritual love notes and missives of pure harm for it’s own sake - yes, even here, of course here, the madness of narrow extremes is at an extreme of it’s own - it’s own pi aspect of explosions and mergings.

 

Amid it all are yet other gentlefolk, loving, kindly in their own right, a closest of couples, they also wind their way.  Belle and Ned, the warmest and most genuine of kindred humanity there is, beset with their share of fears and angers, yet reaching bravely for the hope and possibilities they still harbor, they grope ahead on unsteady footing, now surely lost in these wicked pathways, their vision blurred by the infringing growth and pervasive vapors.

 

A most vital shade are these two muse the master sprights - the most elevated and eternal of inner spirits, the elsprights - in all times we find these - virtually one with the weakest and most frightened, yet mustering from deep within the power to resist the rage - they are on the edge of the edge, but giving their loving state another opportunity, they venture forth, clinging to one another, and to the ethereal spiders we are sending into this mist - not to the myth-champions…

 

On an edge of their own, simultaneously one, and not, with multitudes of an untold host that is converging here with them - inhabiting a pi aspect of their own  - the true champions.

 

Harsh fantasies and realities of dark places and infinite shades of truth - even here in the beloved, ancient Hollow, now transformed - spirits finding their way in the tangled jungle, now colliding and aligning, the force of their notes of fantasy magnified by their interchange of virtual chatter…

 

“OMG - look - down there - thru the trees - on the ground in that opening, right on the ground!  Look quick before the fog comes back - hard to see for sure, but that must be some of them - the lost & the missing - oh my god, the loss - lured in, can’t get out - the tales we have been told!”

 

“The reports - the lies - this is what happens when we listen to them, always!”

 

“JC - and there, others rushing away - it’s them, caught in the act - “with us or against” - we know who! - get them, stop them!”

 

On the ground, figures, not moving, people, deep in the woods! - lost and now found - others moving away! - way beyond shadows & colors, mystery solved…

 

…look my loves, forms are suddenly revealed by a parting of the fog, others of the same edge glimpse and react and sound the alarm - the reports they wanted to believe, now they “know” them to be true - lost souls have indeed been disappearing - so many reports - who can know what is true and what is myth?

 

…dangerous times and places - even in this haven - nothing is sacred - no help for miles - gentlefolk in the wilds, astray, alone - what next?!

An avalanche of notes join the Autumn air of the Hollow and the elements notice, hysteria or ecstasy, or both, wicked terror or fun, or both? 

 

Acute are these missives of true alarm, launched with the very best of intent, their reactive notes, unvetted and unchecked, they cascade and build upon themselves - an onslaught of witches and ghosts of wholly other aspects - lovers at heart turned to horror far beyond the playful frights of the season - they pour into the Hollow, bent on their self-made noble mission of reclamation.

 

Still, these two extraordinary ones, this Bell & Ned, of the same mind, and yet…

 

…and yet they pause, they weigh - the soul of this beloved realm has another foothold…

 

The voices of the forest turn with the advancing elements, sending forth new missives to join the wily sprights of the Hallows of this Eve, the ripples and vibrations therefrom are felt with certainty and heightened sensations by all the the child spirits.

Knowing intimately the soul of their beloved Hollow, our barmaid and all of our intrepids, wherever they are, forever inhabiting the counter-balancing aspects to the base - with us all, sustaining and elevating, and here in this magical place, they are totally absorbed in the love of moment, yet they also face and embrace, they feel their hearts race - something is going on - a new edge to the very shadows and colors - new extremes of lost and disappearing are at hand.

Moved is Ellie, exhaling and letting go, she releases the demons that always threaten to overwhelm the gentle elements, here and throughout the landscape.  Thus, finding her strength, she instinctively refocuses on the ancient stones of the inn and tavern that is her personal joy and life’s work, and notices the quiet lovers settled just outside on the comfy chairs, seeing and hearing the same as herself, but nicely lost in themselves.

 

How trusting they are, how hopeful…

 

Another huge and deep calming breath, and her inner elspirit takes over, commanding her very being like one of the ghosts benevolently violating the sphere of happening that is converging upon them.

 

Ah, there it is, like a potion of nurturing passion and energy, there all the time and now emerging as a critical point is reached - thus finding her deepest self, her notes join the emergence of countering spirits - forever the slower build, but therein lies the true hope — the twisting and winding ways that lead to natural balance are ever the ultimate course as the awesome clarity of her soul speaks…

 

Those two out there - I forgot them - early arrivals for a reunion at one of the nearby B&B’s - they passed thru here and spoke of their love, for each other, for this Hollow, for their other lovers and their special bond, especially with the two intrepid ones whose arrival they await…

 

…ah, the ones they look for - therein lies their true strength - eager I am to meet…

 

…beautiful recognition - those they await, they have the very same special elspirit I know so well, that I am now summoning up - these ones here and out there, their intimate clan, we are kindred, brethren…

 

Such is the vibration, the substance of these vital emergences - also familiar and coming into focus is the subtle power the intrepid ones they need hold over all of their clan - oh my god - should I be elated at the thrill of their rendezvous in my beloved Hollow? - or truly frightened at what they might really find? - or am I, we, succumbing to the trickery?  - are we as weak as the crazed, and so lost that we miss the treats of this All Hallows Eve?

 

Thus she deliberates upon it all, stretching ever further into the ethereal aspects that abound in this time of shadows and colors.

So do her new brethren - for such they certainly are at heart - limitless is this vast sphere within spheres - to meet and find themselves in each other is the very substance of the almighty elevated state of things.

 

Abby and Josh are weighing all of these very same impulses from their perspective along the main mountain road as they drive into the Hollow.  Equally aware and absorbing are the crazy ripples in the realm, and in this beloved destination within.  It comes to them as they lead their clan on their annual ritual, that they are not alone.

 

Abby looks closely at Josh, drawing from him a quick, knowing glance, “I’m sure they are okay, love.”

 

“I know, but I’ll feel better when we see each other.  But you know, Josh, there are definitely other things going on this year - I feel it - so much buzz, so much chatter - triggering real action!”

 

“I feel it, too, but let’s stay true - this is always the time and place to lose ourselves in tricks and treats - maybe we are just caught up ourselves on all that is going on.”

 

“It is crazy when such things become so real - things that are creepy and should stay on the fringe all becoming “normal” - there is far more of that everywhere, for sure.”

 

“It’s all coming here this year, this wonderful place has alway been the place to “lose our selves” - but more than ever come those already lost and blindly following anti-champions, their own witches and ghosts within, who, in true fright, validate their fears and biases - and with it comes now other aspects of all of that - many don’t see how really creepy it gets.”

 

“We’ll feel better when we are with our loves - we always break through this sort of thing - that’s why we come here!”

 

Loving hearts they all are, breaking all barriers in their shared intimacies.  These two intrepid ones out on the mountain road, braving ahead and now lost in thought, the swirls all about them filling their hearts with a mix of the usual excitement and anticipation, but also with worries of their beloved Hollow losing its’ way, of gentlefolk like themselves disappearing, of newcomers who don’t appreciate and respect it the way they do, they way they should, ruining it all - the relentless chatter says so - thus consumed they push ahead into it all.

 

ah, my loves, whisper the elsprights, swirling close in the mists, it is all about ways, paths - indeed, and there are so very many - yes, these narrow ones, constrained they always are in all times by their limited vantage points…

 

…these intrepid ones, they can almost see us, their view is so deep, so vast - for the uglies they sense, and they are right to do so, it all a blur…

 

Also unseen but close behind and all around in nooks and pathways is a host of others.  

 

But surely, it is a ghostly procession they are leading into the heart of the Hollow, of a variety of souls, loving and hating, both - a host of pure pi aspect of merging extremes.

 

Blazing forward into the blind, noting with appreciation each clearing of shadows and gift of colors.  They peer ahead into the alternating swirl of crystal purity and bewildering shades, all mixing.  Breathing as one, they share the excitement and are on edge together - as this time of frights and delights warrants - it is, after all, All Hallows Eve and this is most definitely, this year, amid the wild happenings in the greater sphere, a Hollow that sleeps no more.

 

Abby lays her hand on his shoulder and they find their mutual rhythm; their higher inner el spirit and strength builds, and they return to their joy, reveling in the journey and the depth of their love and their readiness to face and embrace - and think of the early arrivals of their clan, whom they know must already be settled.

So many others there surely are, in all forms and states, filling the Hollow on this is All Hallows Eve - a grand emergence of spiritual force - the elements that move the sphere are swooping in. 

 

Like a rush of wind, but the air is eerily still - like whispers and voices in song, but not a breath of sound - a sudden quieting of the ethereal chorus and virtual chatter, the echoing that had alerted the spirits of the Hollow now abruptly silent. 

 

Bets sits up straight, gripping the arm of the chair tight, “Feel it?  Something in the air - listen, smell it - like a charge or something.”

 

Ben leans close and rubs her back, “It’s like when there are thunderstorms - when the atmosphere feels alive.”

Deep within the pathways the same current sweeps through.  Nothing but sensations out here - of Autumn at it’s height, of sounds and sights and notions that touch and strike deep within. 

 

Ned puts his hand out in front of her, “Wait, stop, first we can’t see, now… something else… a buzzing…”

 

Belle takes his hand, “More of a vibration, look at the hairs stand up - on both of us.”

Along the mountain road, like a wave crashing and pounding, there is an altering.

 

“Hey Josh, pull over - please - and cut the engine - hoo wee, are you feeling it?”

 

“Whew baby I am - Abby my love, can’t you wait?  Is it trick or treat time?”

 

Always their gift and skill to pivot and put matters into perspective - amid the worries a remembrance of inner child.

 

Their laughter comes from within - an eruption - thank you, thank you - centering in almighty form, so glorious - so alive!

Throughout the nooks of the ancient forest, the losing and finding of elements pauses, the wild mixing and converging is stayed amid the riot of notes that brought them here - new missives are swirling in the collective consciousness.

Ah my loves - our missives and theirs, merging and caroming with the mists all around us - such is the very essence of this disjointed time and space, as one with the very i-chatter, their Conneks, that stoke the eternal passions - the notes of inner voices are launched and received as a wily and wicked and crazed brew, pure mercurial and ethereal…  

 

…extra and beyond all ordinary are the spirits joining us this season - the anger out there has now entered our Hollow - cloudy always are the views from within, far greater they are w the tangles they bring with them - look at all of the encounters, whether with each other or with our own missives - thrown together with the ghosts of all Hallows - they don’t yet get the full range and impact of hurt and joy - they will feel both - yes, look at these ones here…

ah, but let us join with these two - elevated and entranced, they snuggle in their chairs and gaze upon the overall - strengthened they are by their forceful lovers that they await, always in connection, always with them and all of their clan, wherever they all are, now winding their way towards them - they do know joy amid it all, thanks to the ones they await.

Indeed, Ben and Bets, now alerted upon their perch on the upper deck of the old tower, they consider the intrusions, the winds of Change that they have sensed.  From the top of the mound that dominates this huge warren of play, they absorb it all and reflect, seeking deep understanding - their usual grand view of the “wildlings" is, frankly, largely the same as always at this special time of year - perhaps we are overly caught up - just look - this what we seek every year - we must make the most of it.  

 

Such is their way - allowing themselves to lose control, to be we one with the alternating dampening fog and mist and then brilliant blaze of fire - to release their own spirits into the play of witches and ghosts - it comes to them - whew, baby, they are in force this year - in forms and wickedness beyond all - such is the sphere of happenings - all converging right here - whew and yay and what mischief can we get into!

 

They and their clan love each other’s company in ways that stretch all bounds, indulging in their own depths of intimacy, they make this annual rendezvous a rite of their very own.

 

Emboldened by their anticipation, they muse further on the unfolding spirits all around them - ooooh, and booooh - oh the passions at play before us - the mischief we can indulge in - to spy upon it all…

 

Bets ventures, “we could easily steal into the nooks and crannies of this place tonight.  Between the shadows and the mob of revelers, we would be just another part of the very confusion we come for.”

 

“Indeed.  I get a kick out of the very serious ones.  There are sure be even more of them than usual.”

 

Seeing themselves as wily sprights and wicked spirit shadows, perfect for the approaching All Hallows Eve, they plot their manner of attack. 

 

“Our crew must have gotten lost - or just decided to explore on their own - we should go investigate.”

 

“Free spirits they are, or maybe it’s the magic of this place and time of year.  Up here is our favorite place -  if this fog would clear, we would have that perfect view of the trees in full color.”

 

“I don’t know - it’s supposed to be beautiful later, but it may get dark before this clears off.”

 

“You can see from all the headlights in the mist, and hear from all of the voices - a lot of people are trooping in for the fest - I bet our clan has gotten mixed up in all of that.”

 

“Do you believe the talk of people really getting lost here lately?  Lovers roaming out into the pathways and never coming back - that’s the buzz.”

 

“We see them all the time from here - even today, look, these little patches open up constantly as new air starts to blow in - see them all over braving the many hiding spots of this place.  The old inn, and the new place on the other side of the square, they always start from there then venture off.”

 

“Just check the chatter tagging here right now - full of whispers of witches and shadows - feeding on itself about dark spirits and reports of disappearances.”

Obsessed and bothered with the annual craze that visits to the Hollow have become, and the general wickedness that has invaded the sphere at large, many are these whisperers that are pouring in, determined to put things right, back to where they aught to be - to take back our lovely realm, our perfect place to “get lost”…

 

And odd-lot collection of grousers, venters, ragers and clowns.  From a walks all around the region, they are of common-tongue of the struggle, the jungle, the basic and the pure, the virtue of true purpose and valiant effort.  As this next season of shadows encroaches, accompanied as always by the peak emergence of colors, this noble collection of gentlefolk sharpen the their vigilance of the contrasts at all points. 

 

“Makes my blood boil to think of how they treat our beautiful place every year at this time.  The Hollow is so unique, and used to respected.  I can’t stand what those people have done to it.”

 

“I agree so much.  They have allowed all of that awful crowd in.  It’s that bunch that has taken over…  Disgusting liberals… Don’t care…  This is always what happens with them.”

 

“It just isn’t the way it used to be.  It’s supposed to be for good clean fun.  It’s always been a hugely popular destination for regular people to go.  It’s time we took a stand for what is right!”

 

“Hold your bladder you guys; we get so worked up; let’s attack this together and just do our best - it’s our due.”

 

“Yes, look at us, we always do our best.  We just need to call all them out.  Confront them.  Stand firm for what is right.  Not just with the ones that run it, but with all of those who invade each year…  God they are terrible…  Make them show which side they are on. We know we are on the right one.  There will be plenty of good chances in the coming days.”

 

Tired, all of them, of being told and soothed and talked-down-to.  Ready to burst and take back what is rightfully theirs.  Into the season shadows and colors they are drawn on their noble mission.

 

Oooooh and boooooo indeed my loves - they have already decided and will hear no more - “what is rightfully their…” they are blind to the rest of things…

 

Yes, my lovelies - infinite shades of all of this - extra in these shadows - and look, these beautiful counters are everywhere, also…

For each tormented one storming in, thoroughly lost in their way, countless more have thoroughly let go and are already in place, with the most open of hearts and minds and souls, they have ceded to the higher spirits of genuine love and are already in place, filling the deepest pathways and dells.

 

For all of the souls of the beloved Hollow, tis truly the season of witches and ghosts and other lovers, spinning and weaving each their own truths - thus is the ethereal substance of the myths of this ancient place of finding and losing.

 

Carried now upon their streams, virtual and otherwise, building each upon their fury or ecstasy, raging or romping - their passions are collectively stoked and they are compelled towards collisions.

 

At the epicenter are Abby and Josh, amid the churning currents - their extraordinary gifts of strength and touch have put them at the critical point of this sphere within spheres.

These two, our intrepid lovers do, indeed, press on, delighting in eery sounds reverberating from all directions as they motor deep into the forest, thrilled they are at the spirits of this season showing and echoing in the shadows and colors of this hollow that sleeps no more…

 

…and joined by these new notes of wheels and axles cracking along this mountain road, complete w musical toots of friendly warning aimed at shades of other movements, other elemental creatures moving and teasing all about…

 

…this was their inspiration, their impulse, Abby and Josh, to rally their flock to this destination…

 

…masters they are at that - their strength and their very own ghostly spirit - joining with all of those now converging - tis the season…

 

…heaving and moaning with joy at their own emergence, they bounce head-on into the swirl…

Silently they peer forward through the windshield into the grey, their vision constantly shifting between brief pockets of clear, revealing the sharp contrast of black of narrow pavement and encroaching bare branches…

 

…then suddenly disappearing, consumed by new shrouds of fog. 

 

“Creepy, this swirling mist - I love it.”

 

“It’s supposed to clear nicely later, but this should make it extra interesting.  There are so many lil nooks and corners to hide - tonight we can do it in plain sight!”

 

“Let’s be extra careful - I’ve heard report of people really getting lost.”

 

“You mean disappearing?  Must be ghosts!”  He laughs heartily, easing the tension of this difficult navigation, straining to see the way ahead.

 

She joins him in the laugh, softly touching his arm, heaving a welcome sigh, “Whew, this is treacherous.  I’m glad you are driving.”  Barely suppressing hers, she adds,  Don’t laugh; people really believe some are getting lost.  I don’t know when it is more likely, on slow and empty days, or in peak season when it will be packed, like tonite!”

 

“We’ll stay extra close my love, sure!  It’s the whole idea of this place, at any time.”

“God this is weird - from perfectly clear to blinding fog - quick, look thru that opening in the trees, a narrow side road I don’t remember - and see, a perfect alignment - there’s the Promontory.”

 

Abby follows his gaze off to the left, that big beaming, wicked smile he loves so much filling her beautiful face.  She says  “yeah, there is the old lodge - best bar in world - so nicely expanded, like much of this place…”

 

Sharing her excitement, he adds, “we love it, for sure, but you know, many are really upset that it’s changing.”

 

“Ah - I loved it before and it’s better now - we can believe in magic here during this season.  Maybe this is just the work of wily ghosts, Josh - you know, they are all out in this forest for Halloween! - playing a trick on us - even here I don’t know what to believe - awesome!”

 

Just a suddenly as it came, the view disappears, the mist moving back in to engulf them. 

 

“Aaaaaggggh” they both let out together.  Big breaths as one.  She offers, “oh well - Betsy had just texted that they were there already - you know them - take your time - give them a honk in case they can hear from here.”

 

He does so, adding, “I know - she and Ben have lots of patience, but even they must be getting a bit worried - we are so late - and with all the crazy chatter, even they will get upset.”

 

“Whoa! - look back there love - some nut has just appeared in the mirror, in a big hurry, catching up to us fast!”

 

Abby leans close to Josh as she turns her head to look at the road behind them, “ooooh weee - I see - a big black suv,” laughing uneasily, she adds “he’s really moving - and guess what, he’s bringing the shadows with him.” She let’s out her musical notes of glee, “this is so perfect””

 

He laughs with her, “Crazy it is - his truck and the dark mist are filling my rearview entirely, they are right behind us, like spirits riding together, chasing us - whew!” 

 

This what they and their clan are coming here for - their sleepy lil hollow has gone mainstream in recent years, and the chatter this year, leading up to All Hallows Eve has truly gone viral - we have to go again this year - got to get into the middle of the wicked craziness - such are their notes leading them all here - got be together for this - far more than friends - virtual lovers we are!

 

They jump at the sudden blast of the car horn blaring from behind - confusion within confusion as the sharp noise of urgency get’s twisted right along with the rest of the elements of enclosing trees and mist as they bounce off the uneven, nay broken pavement.

 

Very practiced at navigating the twisting paths in all conditions, Josh instinctively reacts by just maintaining speed - staying the course - the moment of clarity is totally gone as together they plow thru the grey of the forest.

 

“Is this creepy or what?  This part of the road is actually really dangerous, but we are moving at just the right speed to be safe - he’ll just have to deal.” 

 

“I can’t believe this a/h really is doing this - really right on our tail - unreal - so eerie and beautiful at once - is this a cruel trick?”

 

“Maybe, but take another look love - the honking doesn’t really seem to be coming from him - he’s close, but seems to be in control, but it’s like it’s from somewhere else.”

 

Suddenly they drop into one of the huge depressions typical of this old mountain road, jarring them, causing the suv to swerve and rock sharply, and with it the supremely clear crack and pop - of what?

Stirred to rise, Ben and Bets jump launch themselves - the final trigger:  the sudden movements before them.

 

“This place is more active than I’ve ever seen - things are surely happening - look at the edge of this opening…”

 

“I see - a group of runners emerging from the paths - and look, another procession forming.  See?  That first runner?  That especially beautiful one?!  mmmm so nice! - in  phenomenal shape - she is completely in her zone despite all of this - they are emerging right in front of us, and now heading back into the forest.”

 

“Yes, I see!  Look!  That guy there, then that other one over there, following - creepy!”

 

“We have to keep an eye  - see what they are up to - and hopefully learn what these new sounds and sensations mean - aaaaaah - I don’t know whether to be thrilled or terrified.”

Groping their way back from their fright are Belle and Ned.  Their mood shifting with the sudden giving way of blinding fog against the onslaught of the deepest dark.

 

Pausing and taking it all in, she says “Typical of this Hollow, you know, these hidden clearings, usually free of the swirling mists and fogs, and often offering the most lovely glimpses of sunshine off the hues of the leaves.” He always loves her gift for beautiful expression, her grasp of the inner beauty of the moment in perfect rhythm with her own inner el voice.

 

Belle quiets as she re-doubles her concentration on her footing along the forest path for fear of either falling or crashing into a one of the enclosing trees.

 

Ned grasps her arm to steady them both - both for physical safety and for resolve, “yes, we’ve enjoyed so many serene days, nicely lost in brilliant the colors of these dells - but also like this eve, they can be hidden in the shadows as the sun gets low…  We’ll be okay my dear.”

 

An eerie hum emanating nearby stops them - a subdued chatter - quietly, their minds race - yet more strangers are about - others we have to worry about - triggering in both of them a wave of familiarity - a curious similarity to the frightful happenings they had just encountered, and to their own interchange of inner thoughts - a collective echo - a creepy sensation for sure - a crazy chorus of notes - a kind of ethereal buzz of hearsay about strange and fearful happenings and disappearances as record crowds descend on their beloved enclave for All Hallows Eve.

 

Silent, but in the closest touch, they know each others’ thoughts as they grow ever more cautious - god we can’t get away from them - even here we can’t tell real from fantasy, nor true frights from wicked trickery - creepy indeed are these shadows and colors.

 

She leads him ever so slowly and carefully in the direction of where she remembered a set of wooden benches were.  Suddenly the sounds engulf them, warm softness hugs them, as if they were being groped themselves - hands, arms, fingers - overwhelming sensations - at once alien and ever so intimate.

 

To love or hate new sensations, forever and eternally an internal struggle for them and their brethren, the vital need to define, clearly, with purity of certainty - the impossibility of it all throws them into release.

 

Falling as with the elements, they fall now into the embrace of their perfect counters - that race of folks reveling and welcoming the infinite shades of the world within worlds - brethren of the balancing realm of elevated state.

 

Recoiling she is, emitting one of her trademark mini-screams - Ned knows her well, and these familiar bursts of audible outrage are, to him, part of her charm.  

 

All sensations on overload, her heart racing, feeling Ned tightening his grip, plus other tightening, as well.   Now falling further, yet not, propped and supported, invaded - a flurry of sounds - he yelling his rare high squeak - she her lowest of mournful moans - their extreme notes of terror and horror leaving them savagely exposed - but also, marvelously, from somewhere deep within, unsought but now welcomed, a source of great merriment as an inner strength is tapped amid it all, giving them a rare, and sorely due distance and perspective.

 

how lovely these ones are - not supposed to like them, but we do - wish we weren’t so frightened - tis Halloween, after all - wish we could let go like them - ah such a mix of feelings… 

 

Pure pi aspect - a glorious merging of extremes about this sudden, critical point.

 

A hyper moment of awareness is upon them, a jarring blast of the most heart-warming of laughs and most direct of touches intrudes and provokes them further - what is this?  where are we? ensnared!  hugged!  flesh!  a hot nest - caught?  saved?! 

 

Triggered are fresh notes of virtual chatter, new missives join the ethereal conversation, not quite ready yet are they… 

 

>>So this is where they have been going - back there with those on ground - right here all around us — sleepy lil hollow no more — lost and now found - horror or joy?   — omg!

 

>>Who else has been ensnared? Or have they? - lost beyond their intent - or just as they sought? — caught in this den, or welcomed? — the oddest mix of sensations - violated and loved - enough, all we can take, back get back to the tried and true - or is this what we really want?…

 

Back away these lovers do yet again - torn and weighing, they are stumbling in the mist - they grab hold of each other - shocked and disrupted and full of fear, but also   of the most curious and compelling wonder - yet another pi aspect merging about them, within them - these spirits consume them.

 

Turning unsteadily on the forest floor, they abandon the decadent forms before they are ensnared further - with hearts racing and involuntary cries emitting they move away just as the fog swirls and lifts.

Unmistakable the pops and cracks rifling thru the gloom - overcome, Josh pulls over - Abby grabs his arm as the train roars past - what is going on?  we came for frights and delights, but…

 

From yet another direction, from deep within the twisted pathways cloaked in the shadows & colors of the season, now further obscured by the encroach of gloom, a chorus of shrieks…

 

…of joy or terror or sheer surprise? - human or otherwise - confusing and bewildering, all mixed with the sharp winds and falling matter from the ancient trees…

…impacts and effects of madness, of play or otherwise - runners falling, strollers stumbling, stalkers crashing - free spirits racing head-on into enragers raging - witches and ghosts and other lovers they all are - frights and delights in a chorus of spirits emerging - such is the Hollow that sleeps no more this All Hallows Eve.

 

Amid it all, disoriented and torn between thrilled and chilled, Belle and Ned, these two long-time venturers into the wilds of their beloved Hollow, they have just added to the notes - both verbal and virtual - of frights and delights abounding as they seek far reaches that are, hopefully, still unspoiled by the reckless intrusion of change…

Searching for their higher, inner power, their shared elevated spirit, Ellie, our barkeep above and Abby & Josh below, they stretch their senses to find their own holy, critical point from which to best decide upon the best course.

 

Shocked by the turns, yet alway hopeful of the possibilities for good as true el spirits emerge and merge, Ellie weighs it all.

 

Stunned by the race of vehicles past them, the honking way beyond anything needed in this gentle setting, and by the shots that seemed like gunfire, Josh puts it in park, and they rolled down the windows.

 

“Geese, are we getting carried away, or are they? - this a time for frights unleashed, but it seems different this year.”

 

“Yeah, I just don’t know - listen out there - those are definitely screams - but it could just be people having good old fun - there are certainly a lot more here this year.”

 

With the headlights only reflecting the enclosing grey, he turns them off and cuts the engine.  The resulting totality of dark is something that usually thrills them - and still does - but there is definitely a new edge to it - whew…

 

They had stopped at what they knew to  be a secluded crossroad deep within the forest - physically quite close to the Promontory, together with it forming the heart of this beloved natural enclave - many of the paths converge here, and now comes the clear echo of many footsteps, joined with rustlings of creatures tiny and not and the other night sounds.

 

“I always love this spot, Josh - nicely creepy the way the spirits of the Hollow all seem to join here - but listen, it is so busy tonight.”

 

“It’s always difficult to judge distances from there, but there are clearly a lot of people, and other critters moving about.”

 

“Look, there!  A whole bunch are racing down that path - and there, where some are shining flashlights, others with lanterns seem to be blocking them.”

 

“Want to have a little fun of our own?  After all, it is Halloween!  Let’s creep along over there - we know our way around here in the dark - I bet we can get close without being noticed.”

From the deepest spots of the Hollow emerge the most secluded of revelers - theses recesses have alway been the most private of wide open nooks, perfect for the most extremes acts of indulgence for which they alway returned - even from these sacred places lovers were stirring and moving - something new in the air this year - yay, we are in the mood for anything - let’s see what mischief we can find - a glorious air in the Hollow this eve - perfect for us witches and ghosts!

 

Should be easy - we have already been noticed - while we were fully in play, like the most innocent of fawns, they crept towards, then recoiled and ran - surely they will make easy targets…

 

Yes - we are already fully indulged, and these ones are already fully spooked - let’s give chase and spread the fun!!!

Ah my loves, this is pure Chaos in practice, all before us - Change is a gloriously wicked spirit - all for us to orchestrate as best we can…

 

Yes, our fellow benevolent spirits surge throughout the Hollow - from these free spirits pursuing the startled gentle loves, ever possessed of hope - to this onslaught of uglies, sadly at a loss for such - each now moving upon their own noble course of lost and found, each of them lovers by their own truths…

 

Indeed, these ones of puffs and huffs - a truly wicked host of spirits - they are easily stirred by their anti-champions, ever and eternally on a narrow course to conserve and harness the frightened - they are bent on emergences of entirely other aspects…

 

The witches and ghosts of this All Hallows Eve are in glorious company - the inevitable collisions of pi aspects of all shades of shadows and colors shall provide wicked results…

 

More than a ghostly parade, now a stampede into the heart of the Hollow, faster and faster, their vital purpose confirmed by the cracks and pops and shrieks echoing about the ancient forest, the roar of their engines and scream of their horns break the serenity of the Hollow…

Taking it all in, Abby and Josh sense both the delights and frights abounding all around them - suddenly they turn at the pose of dark, metallic forms…

 

“Jeeeese, look at that - like madmen - that is so dangerous in this gloom…”

 

“We should alert the others to be extra careful - these nuts raging are sure to run someone over, if they don’t crash first.”

 

Screeching to stops at this convergence of mountain roads and forest paths, the saviors bent on reclamation pour out of their trucks and fill the paths, following the alerts of their fellows of the whereabouts of the trouble.  

 

Satisfied that sufficient force is now surging through the forest to counter the invasion of those who don’t belong, their leaders, the champions of their noble cause to #takebackthe hollow, they rev back up their mighty vehicles and head for the Promontory.

Children of the forest, they burst from their twisted and paths and are stopped, stunned, shaken by the witchcraft of the Hollow - overcome with powerlessness — as one with the veil of mist and fog, their spirits rise with the ghosts of All Hallows Eve… 

 

“God Belle - I don’t know who or what to believe here”

 

Instinctively she hugs Ned as they emerge into the crossroads area deep within the forest “Me either - oh my god Ned - look at this right here - and that scene back there - and those shots and screams - and all these awful reports…”

 

“I know we are racing to give our own report, but…” he stops, eyes wide, feeling like he’s going to burst “I don’t know about all of this, but I just have a feeling we should stop - people are going to get hurt here, for real, and…”

 

She breaks in, gripping him so tight, “They already are…”

 

He turns to her, puts his arms around her, “what do we really know - what have we been told? - what have we been ready to believe? - it’s all mixed up, right here out there - but I know this  - this is still the middle of a beautiful place, at a marvelous time of tricks and treats and people like us are getting lost in all of it - I think you and I are lost right now in other ways, and need to be strong…”

 

“…yes my dear - be strong, and listen to our inner voice - it’s so hard with all the noise - but leaping at every taunt - we know that is wrong - so tempting…”

 

“…addicting, really - but it’s so hard to find the calm and quiet we need to really think…”

Truly alarmed now by the crazy taunts and insults flowing from those flowing from the various trucks and other vehicles, feeding on their own hysteria, no matter how much they try to resist.  Like a flood building on itself, this onslaught of hype and rage is now pouring down the paths from where our shaken ones just emerged - then suddenly a new extreme is breached - genuine cries of both hurt and jubilation…

 

Ned and Belle are beside themselves, already stopped by inner feelings contrary to their urgency to spread their notes of alarm - given pause by a critical point reached and the spirits of the Hollow conspiring to halt their mission - now this clear image of children on a witch hunt jars them further as this new contradiction is added.

 

As ghosts within themselves, they note their involuntary new movement, towards this new source of genuine tricks and treats gone way, way too far, and now catch their breath as they stumble into a raw mix of passions - more lovelies on the ground w others, like themselves trying to push through the uglies who have clearly put them there.

 

Pure confrontations - lovers of other aspects finally waking as from a spell - the grave danger of these others bewitched is suddenly unveiled, in perfect rhythm with the spooky elements of this ancient forest.

Completely non-linear are these wily spirits, spooking ripples and ebbs in the currents in the Hollow on All Hallows Eve - indeed, as happenings transpire, so to do countless others…

…seen collectively from all other vantage points, all other aspects, the master elprights launch their notes into the stream - our free spirits are in pure states of love and lost - as one with the most benevolent witches and ghosts - they are filling the most secluded spaces, then emerging forth as the solar orb descends and the shadows and colors fade into the mists…

 

…yes my loves, and all the while, as well, these tormented souls, these lovers in their own hearts, they are every much fellow children of this ancient forest and other jungles, yet they are held back, imprisoned and so very lost, they race in their hyper state as the blaze of setting sun fires their own craze of passions, also filling the byways of our sphere of happenings - and these pathways before us - with their own troubled world, and now, this one within it all…

Ah, the buzzing of spirits, the rising of colors - throughout the ancient forest there is a shared sense of the witches and ghosts of the spooky night ahead - triggering passions and setting off a new chorus of notes, heard and unheard, stoked by a fierce blast of fire before the orb disappears once again.

Also in parallel, in their own dimension among the limitless aspects, Ben and Bets have been taking it all in, venturing along the vital pathways of knowing, and now as one with their collective, mysterious strength, they are triggered.

 

They had arrived early, well ahead of their assembling clan, and had navigated the twisting paths of this ancient destination towards the B&B where they will all be staying, and then to this inn, and now beyond a bit, their silent notes swirling as they re-focus:  What is this all about?  Of loving souls seeking to disappear for a time?  Or is it lost souls seeking love?  mmmmm

 

“I see why the traditionalists are so upset - even here, in this perfect getaway so close to everything - even with these awesome days and this setting at this wonderful time of year, the chatter and noise intrude,” Bets says as they move to the opening to the knoll.

 

“It all merges together, from so many sources, and it’s barging in right now, I fear, in the currents we have detected - it affects what people do, and they feed on each other - look at those people right around us  - whether they understand it or not, it moves them, too.”

 

“There is so much to move the soul right here - it’s why we get hear early - we know all kinds of happenings are going on within the forest - more this year, like every where - but less and less even try to see the overall.”

 

“Yes, the overall, and even less try - or are able - to shut out all the noise and really listen and try to understand - we have have an inner voice that remember the perils of that.”

 

“mmmm perils, indeed - and some deliberately add to all of that… Here, now, in this Center of calm, within us, with those right here - and everywhere, just stopping and saying “no” and finding our inner el voice - there is the real strength - the genuine truth - blinding when it takes hold.”

Just as the crusaders have arrived at the crossroads within the forest, Bets takes Ben’s hand, and nudging him, they stroll towards the sensations…

 

… gesturing, he follows her gaze to another couple who appear to be walking behind yet another; chuckling he whispers, “funny… stalking just like us…”

 

The observations further trigger that vital other state - a reminder and confirmation - this realm is ours!

 

He delights as she leans in to him, her classic wicked humor barely suppressed, reveling in their indulgence, she allows out one of her trademark low moans of excitement, “ooh, many of us are about in these woods… come…,” tugging, she leads them aside in to the enveloping shadow. 

 

Already the mist is starting to move back in - down the various paths, couples and other groupings go, disappearing, “sush…  but look, off they go - hold here - let’s see exactly who goes - try to listen to these sounds - are they connected?”

 

Excited in their stealth, they embrace - delighting also in these special offerings of their own, their own glimpses reflected back.

“Which should we follow?  There are so many of us! We must pursue!  We must join!  Down these paths, things are happening…”

 

“These sounds we have heard are happening, as well… mmmm… We don’t yet grasp all that is happening - and likely never will!.   But see, close at hand, those are runners, and there, those see those two loners?!  Or are they?  Or are we?”

 

“Yes - not sure what is real and what are ghosts and witches tonite?  So many sounds and feels as we really get into this - those honks and yells and screams we heard seem to come from several of those paths - many, in fact - and there are other things — and are still going on, whatever they are - so low, so faint, so muffled - can’t tell of of joy or not.”

 

“Oh my love - just like out there - can’t tell what is real, what is true, which way to go, who to follow.”

 

“mmmm, yes - and something else - like a note whispering - maybe all are lovers, like us and not - all here - and there - best to really look, take it all in, find our inner el voice and understand - someone must.”

This clearing just in front them, an extension of the old stonework of the tavern and deck is cast in sharp extremes of dark and brilliance, alternately highlighting and further concealing the odd assembly of souls that had, just moments before, been serenely lost in the grey, absorbing the magic of the woods, nicely disappearing into their own realms.

 

The fiery orb is now at it’s own extreme, on the very edge, already leaving the depths of the forest in the deepest of shadow, here, very nearby the crossroads, yet seemingly of another realm, as the brightest of colors still play in the final rays.

 

Rays of life - our missives are being felt - our kin are taking them up and weaving - the eternal counter to the tangles - beautiful.

 

This one fellow, this old soul, he had been sitting on the rocky shelf that outlines his favorite destination within the overall.  He also had been alerted from his beautiful daydream by new movements, his fanciful thoughts - like sprightly els - migrating out from deep within the forest - I love it here - but there is something more happening - elements definitely are swirling - not my dream - flitting from point to point - a remembrance - it’s for us els to join in and counter.

 

His busy eyes were detecting a darting and weaving - intent, sharp, on alert - noticing everything happening in the Hollow - too much - such a bizarre mixture pouring in amid the shadows & colors - his thoughts race, turning from visions of delights to haunts of witchcraft surely afoot, harm may enter these lovelies, even here!

 

Look at that bunch!  Actually running here!  In their little outfits!  It’s been a warm Indian Summer day, yes, but the temperature is dropping and the fog is starting to roll in with the shadows.  Don’t they know?  Don’t they care?  Ah, of course - I forget - how delightful - but also truly dangerous - or is this just the work of spooky Halloween?!  Look; they have separated and gone on by different paths.  Oh no, that creep notices them, too.  Better keep an eye on her, the lovely one.  

 

Glaring at the loner hiding in the dark corner by the huge oak as he hurries after the woman, both disappearing down the hill, yet another lost soul rises to these developments.

 

Alarmed, as well, by these new movements breaking the pattern before him - this particular “loner” - there are so many - or are they - lovers one and all, each in their own aspect - roused from his favorite spot of reflection by this sudden influx - that was the familiar fellow who is always here, always buzzing about - now he is following the gorgeous one.

 

New, fresh worries - he is certainly creepy - maybe I am - so much of this tonight - it is, after all, All Hollows Eve - but I’ve come to know him - harmless, really - thus he deliberates as the rest of this odd assembly, having paused at the intersection, is now departing.

 

And of course, here come these other curious ones, launching themselves in response - such are these times - the chatter is full of others just the same - so easily provoked - and many many more, all descending here, spurred on their various noble missions by the incessant Conneks that they can’t turn off…  

 

All transpiring before him - my how the twists and turns here never end - what a hoot they all are - who needs tv or internet? - this is my entertainment - he muses as he can’t contain his merriment - must be the witches and goblins - mmmmmmmmmm  mmmmmmmmm - he doesn’t try to restrain his sing song humming - in perfect tune with the winds now stirring the few remaining colors of the ancient trees.

 

He decides to move on, as well - giving his own glacial chase of the rest of the runners and stalkers - ghosts and witches and other lovers - like me! - who have also disappeared, just as the sudden shift in the atmosphere takes hold - the parting riot of hues of the late day sun off of the leaves and wide range of architecturally rich structures - uniquely in full view from this central, elevated vantage point - all is swiftly becoming lost in the influx of mists so typical of this place.

 

Here it is my loves, we see all of our loves in glimpses of elements moving - here and there and all about the Hollow - all about our sphere at large - converging and merging…

 

…all are sprights on this night of moving spirits - we and our fellow elsprights, tis our time and place and ethereal space among it all…

All of the Hallow is emerging this Eve - a common correspondence of notes, of missives, of souls, of spiders - in all embodiments in a grande alignment - stalking and weaving - all of the elevated spirits sending and receiving as one, merged and joined - and now particularly on alert by these, these other spirits, all together…

 

Nicely on edge, and then some, maybe too much?  This is what we came here for, but this seems so real, a wicked mix for sure…

Thus the most masterly of the elspirits launch ever more - infinite and vast is their power - more of their own missives, their ethereal spiders - weaving rays life - fragile and of almighty strength, both - pure pi aspect — luring the obsessed towards the true champions, the children of the forest with there hearts wide open - ah such courage - now there is vast and awesome - pray that the spell will be broken before greater harm is done.

 

These most elevated of spirits, seemingly of pure fantasy and magic until touched - tis the only way to know and is the focus of our witches and ghosts and other lovers this All Hallows Eve - their spiritual form is now fully stoked and swirling all about the Hollow.

Tis the witching hour.  One by one they reach their limit and find that innermost el spirit - they discover themselves echoing back from their other loving souls, collectively touched and reminded of the true depth of frights on this All Hallows Eve.

 

Not all hype and delusion are these spirits of rage - in their own realities they dwell, but in this all too real aspect of things, their rants of harm triggers acts that are all too real.

 

The most gentle of gentle folk, the runners, are truly run over - free spirits are truly assaulted as they dance and offer their timeless gifts of love - stalkers are colliding with stalkers - enragers with ragers - and perhaps the most extreme of horrors, the misled saviors, blindly following their champions of fear and hate - blindsided by their own weaknesses and obsessions they are the most lost of all.

 

With each collision, with each critical point reached, nano bits of new missives fly.

 

One by one the spell begins to lift - the eternal cycle is repeating all around the Hollow - but not before, once again, the true harm of the sphere of harm is visited upon us all.

 

Sadly, eternally, the gentlefolk must witness - must and fall themselves over the very impact their madness has wrought.

 

Critical points spark new swirls of missives of elevated spirits, a collective migration back to home - once again an emergence of the all powerful Center of things. 

 

Fleetingly are eyes opened for some - forever transformed are others.  For an ethereal moment there is a pause in the happenings all over the Hollow.

 

For a blessed nano moment the extremes fall over themselves and break off - the rest, the lovers at heart, their spirits are released and fly renewed, returning on this All Hallows Eve with the witches and ghosts to their collective home.

 

Pushed to the rough forest floor by sharp elbows and more, Belle and Ned finally do lash out and cry out - their genuine distress finally provokes a turning - torches and lanterns illuminate more than expected - madness is revealed - a spell breaks - underlying things that truly matter are remembered - this is not the way…

 

…Stop…. Halt… Bring your lights to bear… new missives - new notes flood the nooks and dells - truly frighted and shocked children of the forest see themselves together - look around us - such a beautiful night - such beautiful possibilities - what are we about?

 

Abby and Josh emerge and reveal themselves - shining their own lanterns at true threats of harm - they launch themselves into the fray before them - “this is not the way!” “look at yourselves”  “we love it here”  “you used to”  “remember why”

 

The lights of the nearby Promontory converge with the headlights from the onrushing mob - starkly illuminated, their mood triggered by unmistakable cries just ahead, Ben and Bets find themselves transformed, triggered, strengthened - a wave a clarity fills them and they stand firm and call out “Stop!”

A sleepy hollow it soon will be again - the wicked spirits that are now converged will settle in for yet another winter - but this is indeed the witching hour…

 

…ah, my loves, my lovers, even in these moments, time itself transformed, the eternal age merges this hour that transcends all others…

 

…for many the spell is broken, but not for all - witches and ghosts and other lovers, they can now see each other for what they are - but this moment never lasts…

 

The fallen are lifted up amid the crazed mix of wild extremes - even they see themselves in each other, in this infinitely minute and vast space in the sphere of happenings - wide-eyed they are with the clarity of emergence - all are loving spirits at heart - transcended and transformed in awesome alignment — all are in love with this beloved haven of tangles of paths and dells - such are their own pathways - but in letting go and losing ways they came here on this All Hallows Eve from opposite and all shades and extremes of aspects…

 

The natural ebb will soon take hold once again - such flowerings must be savored and their mark made deep while they last.

 

One by one they will recede and regroup, each finding their own natural balance, as best they can - those who are most completely one with the very soul of this magical realm, they find themselves in each other…

...to their norm they will soon return, to each separate base, but an elevated moment is at hand, a nano space in the sphere is clearing, a nexus forming of an elusive & indeterminable dimension...

 

...their construct together, triggered by love, by a convergence of selves ready, each in their own way, to shift, set in motion by our lovers in company w the lovelies of this ocean side paradise…

 

…that moment, that unique position, that time of choice with no clear path - paths and connections now revealed in all aspects…

 

…but just as surely, with a wholely different clarity, the way of true, genuine progress is among this murky array of twisting and weaving ways - another glimpse here and now of this surety - unsettling and more - but also energizing and strengthening…

Kicking up sand, the beach cruiser does seem to leap out of it’s hiding spot - revving and roaring to life, breaking the moment, speeding away - all the elements reacting, their notes swirling - so there he is - been watching us all this time - where the hell is he going? - how can he just leave?

 

His own notes mix in, wild el impulses in common weave, inner voices suggesting - maybe there is more to this - maybe other impulses are in play - look at us - look at them - these ones are ridiculous - got to get a way from them - maybe he saw us for what we are - got to get away from this - going to finally do it - going to those lovers - what’s happening with them? - what are they calling? - they might really need - I need them - are there others? - that other young couple? - are they alright? - leave these ones to themselves - look at all of this - all of us - all part of this amazing scene - each in our own place - each with our own part - ooooh, the sun is ablaze - wow, the waves are really crashing…

Thus, as the ranger races across the sands towards the rocks, as the lovers who started all of this screech above and new ones cry below, as the waves pound and seagulls scream, the others are left to stew - to face it all - so many turns at once - so many sensations - god, look at us here like this beautiful place - we look different in this light - somehow we know - we are okay together - all else can wait - this is lovely here…

 

…thus, the Bothered & the Lured & the Coaxed are left behind, this head of trails is all theirs - left to just react, reflect, absorb - still peaking in their own ways w the magic of the beach at dawn - thrown together and abandoned, they read and hear and sense their inner el voices mixing in the void at the plaza…

 

…uncalled for and unasked, but surely there now, felt & sensed more than anything, all mixed up with everything else they are “noting”…

 

…there all the time, now suddenly glimpsed - such is this realm…

 

…swirling with the reflected shimmers and softened vibrations off the beautiful stones, off the waving seagrasses, off of each other, they know, somehow, each other’s thoughts - 

 

• it really is overwhelming - this has been our refuge - lonely, lost, left - here we can feel okay - when we get our way - not today - tempted to follow those - tempted soothe these - torn - a new focus - ah, but we need this…

 

More suggestions, alway deeply buried, but now nudging forward and out, glimpses into their own realm, their own space within - ethereal, virtual and oh so very real across a new host of aspects — allowed and enabled in the serenity of this sacred moment…

…we came at their call - but all we can do is watch - these two Bothers, look at them, gentle souls under it all - hurt like us - fearing like us - we knew, deep inside, that this shouldn’t continue - or, worse, that it might - still a shock - a deep, deep hurt and sorry - maybe all of these know the same - of course they have - what to do? - will be revealed - they did take the leap - crushing - but, also freeing - time to rise, as much as we can, seize…

Look at him go - that ranger finally showed himself - now speeding away towards the rocks - towards calls & cries - into the sun - to the lovers - to what is happening? - leaving us!…

 

…Even these two, rising now, were at each other, were after those damn lovers - now even they are turning away - quieting - leaving…

 

Our bothered, our grousers, getting what they asked for, what they cried about - beware, so quiet, too quiet - driving more away - such is their way -  for all of our lives - getting worse, even in this haven, even in this paradise - things happening without them…

 

…and yet, and yet new sensations, new knowings - a clarity not known for a very long time - fresh voices singing to them - opportunity - hope - let it happen…

 

…blurry and bewildering this is -  yet also a release - these elements at their peak - we are here with them - we are all part of this play - this happening - ah the gulls - oooh the surf soothing - wonderful the sunrise peaking…

Gazing back, holding, touching - the lovers’ cries and screams of joy build at the scene before them, they know beyond knowing each other’s selves, their el spirits are one, one Center — from here it all fits together - we didn’t cause it all, no - we did break out - we did seize the moment - in company with all of this we are - company together this is what we have wrought  marvelous -— 

 

- beaming, smiling “Look at all all of them” - “altogether - beautiful and hilarious” - “the gulls and those folks - all in rhythm”- “calling and waving” - all loons together - including us” - “so much drama - so much melts away”- “so glad we came…”

 

It just came over them, they had to express, they must display - the very reasons for their dare this morning…

 

…their display - building & blooming - provoking even further - cast lose upon these new paths, the others ride this wave with them…

 

…the ranger racing to do his duty - to intervene where truly needed, not w crazies - not with those at the plaza - leave them to themselves - I have responsibilities out here - and more - something more tugs at me - these lovers I have come to know - and now these new ones - are they alright?! — I know I heard and saw new ones, new lovelies calling in distress - maybe - at least I must see…

 

…and this is where these other lovers are - I have observed them so many times -  - both familiar and not with those hight upon the rocks - yay for them, finally bursting out - would love to join, but must make sure these new ones are ok - his thoughts stirred and elevated to a new high also - another pi aspect of all of this…

 

…Garcon & Belle & Coaxed & Lured - they finally give in - give in to the moment - give in their powerlessness - alway must be in control - this they share - somehow they know this as they finally see each other - 

 

• exhausted, they quiet and still and subside - a new clarity, a new numb - of harsh realities and serene endlessness - anything can happen - how bizarre - how unreal - wonder wonder what happens next…
• …as reading their thoughts, gulls intervenes - one lands right on their table - more come swooping in to take up positions on the stones - 
• — unreal, look at them, especially this one - thinks it’s his table - they all think it’s their plaza - are they squawking at us?  - even they join in a round of laughter at the craziness of it all — they all nod at these strange creatures - these arrivals - and land look - off they go, too - more departures - spent, they smile at each other and sit as one in beloved company…

 

Also arriving, amid the cresting of it all, the ranger lets out his sigh of relief and joy - whew - what was I thinking? - wasn't sure and had to check - these new ones are just a beautiful young couple - totally oblivious to all of this drama - good for them…

 

Looking up and looking down, they know each other - the lovers and the ranger share the touch of notes, the touch of love shining thru - they had to be here to truly know - they do - their moment together…

 

Turning back from the tip of the rocky point, the lovers muse …vindication - yes, we welcome this nexus, we sought a new center from which all will emanate…

 

…we have arrived, here, now - what’s next is uncertain, what’s past, is past - we revel and give thank for this sacred space in the sphere of happenings…

 

…like cresting, we have reached the eternal spot of convergence -

 

— the only clarity is this blinding, brilliant light, this fiery blaze, this chorus of spirits, this elevation, this grand alignment of infinite, unending aspects…

 

…and this precious morsel of certainty - a transformation is at hand…

 

…yay for this, thank you for our love, thank you for all of these lovelies in all their many forms - for those in open pageantry w the gulls and surf as well as those deeply buried under troubled souls…

…a growing sphere of their own, of colliding elevated selves in tune with the heightened rhythm of Summer…

 

…one w the forward touches of gulls and surf and brilliant sunrise, all in a company of causes and resulting effects of elements across an expanse of aspects as wide as this awesome setting of endless views…

 

…thus, in this next glimpse into the ethereal journal of Seaside notes, of inner voices singing in virtual correspondence, look and listen, carefully and fully, to their chorus, of breaks in patterns of fury playing off each other…

 

…which ways will they turn when offered the opportunity?  to rise or recede?  to allow, to dare, to venture forward together?  or quickly fall back?

 

…such is the substance of elspirits - elevated inner voices emerging and moving each other, be it ever so slight or massive, always transforming - and vitally, away from their obsessions…

How bizarre these beachfolk are this morning - in a state of becoming, of becoming fellows in an uneasy awareness of their own, disrupted and dislodged from paths and places…

 

…spiraling and careening, sparked by our lovers and the endless lovelies of the seaside realm, fueled by a force emanating from them as they boldly embark on their own, joining a company of elevated beach spirits, together initiating, seizing and causing all of their inner voices to sing:  unsettling -  maybe the norm everywhere - look at all us - all of this - a paradise this seascape - this lovely dawn - so much in play...

 

...given pause, their shared thoughts, not their norm to easily share - but a difference this morn - of their own strange making - their rich stew - their sensations - something about this space, this place, their mutual break - a certainty -  a notice - a wild array of new aspects pervades them all…

 

…it all started with them, those lovers, for sure - rambling thru here as always, yet somehow different today - bolder, more determined, baring themselves as one - luring and coaxing - disrupting in a strangely loving, serene way - all the same with the rest of this amazing scene…

 

Perhaps it is the sharpness of the rising sun, the rays seizing all of them & firing the hues of the paving stones of the lovely plaza at the trail head - and of their mutual passions - their feelings that overwhelm, fears that constrain, rages that consume - for they are certainly so - yet now, in this progression, a shift - together they are so moved, initiated by love in open display, against all else, always mattering…

 

…matter indeed, in tune fresh bursts of scented mist, of this breeze off of the sea, or the sudden focus turned towards clouds of gulls in marvelous contrast against the perfect blue, high above these briny vapors, all together swirling and swarming across the sands...

 

…towards us, all around us - look at us - us…

 

…such is their & our conversation, spoken & spoken, this elevated exchange of forces - forces within and all around, outside of themselves and also deeply within - baring themselves, just as our two lovers, these ethereal spiders, now unleashed and set loose…

…certainly, all these elements, lovely and not, in company w soft surf whispers & melodies of hushed calls and songs - as well as the screeches & crashes of fowl & human & surf in convergence have sparked this nano emergence of impulses…

 

…beyond all of them is the feeling - a sameness of strangeness and newness - and, yes, behold, welcome bits of relief and renewal - this lil corner rises to it's own shades of dawn...

 

…certainly, this light is playing on them - colors of faces revealed, flushed - their hues as well…

 

…the rest of them turn towards the sun, low and illuminating the two, wrapped and embraced, openly displaying, daring along with the seagulls now rising with them to the rocky high point…

 

…another shift, a stillness that is different for them - a serenity quite familiar to the two and now brazenly offered and shown…

 

...clearly these passions, these forces, these elements - we see all of us in heightened states - a familiarity - something sheer - a mark is left …

 

…a bit of magic in the continuum...

 

…such is their aspect this morn - all of theirs, of all of the elements in this haven within havens, this Center of things - if only for a moment they move in concert - a bizarre harmony - the concentrated point of what matters - of love that does matter, indeed…

 

…not realized til seen and felt, then impossible miss…

 

…thus, they emerge for just a nano bit together in this place of beauty - now their impulse, together - their new norm emerging amid their collisions…

As our two lovers settle beyond, now hidden by the fierce sunrise blazing behind, as the countless other soft and soothing elements of this paradise at day break work their magic, there is also a settling back at the trail head - in the beautiful plaza the routine start of a new day begins once again. 

 

There, the regular grouser, as our lovers think of him because he seems to always be in some state of grumble, full of nervous energy, bustling and blustering - their Garçon, as they affectionately refer to him for his aspect of inhabiting this lovely seaside plaza as though in his own Riviera - he is all about his comforting and customary preparations to receive “his” grouping of fellows who seek daily to offset their mutual bothers with the balm of this perfect setting and each others venting.  

 

He offers a hearty “good morning” to the lady already seated under “their” pavilion with the awesome view of the beautiful beach and grand city skyline - she is familiar from past gatherings, her outrage similar to his, but beautifully concealed beneath her charming veneer - her genuine warm and caring self naturally on display and at odds with the troubles within…

 

…He can’t quite recall her name, preoccupied as usual as he hurries and scurries, pulling chairs from other tables to set up for “his” regulars.

 

Our lovers are still on his mind - a crowded place is his realm within, chock full of concerns - their impact lingers on him, of having already passed through the trail head and begun one of their morning walks, barely acknowledging him in the process…

 

…he is a curious creature to them, one of many who are part of the landscape of their favorite rendezvous location - they did, in fact duly notice and appreciate him, in their way, but moved swiftly on, not wishing to disturb his morning ritual - smartly adorned as usual under his little beret and seemingly quite absorbed in either sitting hunched over his laptop, or roaming and tidying this popular nook of the seaside city.

 

He bothered himself with observing this overly friendly couple that often meets here, his thoughts further crowding his overloaded mind - there they are again! - what are they up to?  - way too affectionate! - brazen! 

 

He was anxiously hurrying to beat the rush of strangers pushing into this assembly of tables, large and small, clustered under an assortment of umbrellas and broader coverings.  He thought of himself as host-supreme of an odd-lot gathering of busy-bodies - quite aware of what they are, mighty and proud - the exact composition ever changing, but the mutually comforting grousing about the ills of the world ever the same.

 

Suddenly startled by yet another intrusion, he jumped as yet another a man and woman enter, these new ones, fully engaged in a heated discussion, brushed right past him and abruptly plopped down on two of the exact seats he had just carefully carefully positioned.

 

Holding his breath, fuming, he glared at them and glanced pointedly around at the many tables still completely vacant - this is what’s wrong with the world - people like this! They are really angry; they seem to be looking for someone; what’s going on?

 

He dragged a few more chairs over, banging them as noisily possible, but they were too absorbed in their conversation - and most interesting to him, clearly seemed to be looking in the direction of the trail, towards the two who has just passed through.

 

Unsure what to do, he moved over and stood next to Belle - he thought that was her name - don’t like their looks - trouble makers, all of them - need to do something about them - where is that damn park ranger? - such a lazy ass, always with the insolent look, something is wrong with him, too - need him to do his job here…

 

…Belle - that is her nickname - she possesses the natural gifts of comfort and sensing when it is needed - she lays her hand on his, soothing, easing - if only for a moment.

Mixtures they all are, as are most of us - but, especially bothered at this moment of otherwise extreme beauty are our Garçon & Belle, even in this paradise at dawn, even in this breathtaking place, even with the soft sounds and sights of a new day on the beach…

 

…indulging and fueling each other in a mutual fume at this intrusion - bothered already by the glare and the overly humid air - will be a scorcher - must get “our” beautiful spot all set and going early - barely containing their unspoken words from bursting upon these two invaders…

 

…about to burst they are at Lured & Coaxed, our heated ones, obsessed with our/their lovers just ahead, they are jolted by the scraping of chairs and the waving of arms - stopping in their obsessions, they turn and look…

 

…they can’t help it, a new impulse, beyond their control, involuntarily they are the ones to burst - an eruption of laughter they can’t contain…

 

…the sight, the scene, newly joined, their own merged thoughts - we know we shouldn’t - if they could only see themselves - cheeks puffing, eyes bulging - if they could only let it out - if we only could…

 

…now about to explode, the bothered ones muse further at this personal assault - first those two rush thru here again, up to no good - now these two following, and sitting right down at our table, and now what? they mock us? Clowns, indecent all of them…

The lured ones, they had stumbled into the trail head totally absorbed with their now lost lovers, gazing up the trail, along the beach, towards the rocky heights, into the blinding lights - why are we here? why have they brought us here?  

 

They are now forced to face what they have known, inside, but have somehow lived with, contained…

 

…squinting in the early morning glare, out of their element, bizarre to be here in this special place of beauty - a place meant for serenity, but they are now adrift in an opposite place…

 

…numb, heart-broken, like having been struck, he stared after her, torn between running after them, and… he really couldn’t think…

 

…she, she was falling, crashing, to see him revealed, with her - she’d long known, but now before her….  unsteady, she grabs her strange fellow as she feels herself sinking… 

 

…as out of control as she, he had jumped at her forward touch, almost finishing them both, stumbling together towards the unforgiving hard stones, but they had caught each other - another unsettling forcing of this unreal morn…

 

…made to cling and reach and look, swerving at two chairs nearby, they had abruptly plopped themselves down…

 

…totally absorbed at first, barely noticing they were not alone - this amazing spot always overwhelms them, even without the added craze of their two out there in full display…

 

…they were glimpsing all of the elements within this lovely nook, especially the calls of the seagulls and the whistling of the winds off of the surf, bending the seagrasses…

 

…but a different sort of screeching had turned them, then those glaring eyes and a host of jumping and fluttering and squawking had stirred them… 

 

…the beautiful morning beach scene was a blur to both of them, spinning out of control in their stunned view - then that harsh scraping and that angry banging - jarred further, they had recoiled at the sound - spinning and momentarily focusing on a matched pair of old crouches…

 

…Bother1 & Bother2 these two are - cartoon characters they seem - look at their animation - his mask of puffed cheeks - her exaggerated sneer - caricatures - grade school antics of bullies, stomping and wining - such a performance…

 

…thus Lured & Coaxed aligned and progressed in their shared thoughts, their own joint reactions further breaking their own norm…

 

…with their fury momentarily broken a renewed and strengthening impulsive of laughter poured forth, unrestrained, impossible to stop amid their wonder -  is he serious? - is she for real? - they are just more of those silly ones - even here - if they could only see themselves…

Thus these lured and coaxed ones, now, together, the jilted ones - they share a bit of welcome relief - share a knowing smile - impulsively they flash a beam of pure merriment back at the bothered ones as they swivel back towards the objects of their own extreme fury…

 

“Must be the effect of this beautiful place - it alway gets me.”

 

“That, and something else - as mad and hurt as we are, isn’t it a kind of relief?!”

 

“Yea….”  Bother1 barks  “there are other tables, you know…”

Suddenly the beach cruiser roars to life - another sound added - more shifts as elements react, gulls sharply turning away, their own selves jumping, a new round of merging thoughts - so there he is - there all this time - there all of them are - got to intervene - have to make a move…

…with matters now in motion, with the all-too-familiar elements in place for convergence, our lovers balance and turn and offer this next segment of snips and patches of Summer - the blusterers will wait - tis time at this height of summer, amid the beauty of this city seascape - and amid their own daring breakout to better things - tis opportune to climb a bit further and gaze upon it all from a better vantage point…

 

…thus this journal of Seaside notes of ethereal correspondence grows - itself a convergence of their nano bits of inner voices joining in full chorus w the many beautiful elements of a seaside space as lovely as this at its’ seasonal peak…

 

…thus emerging, naturally, with the many already there, here and all around - virtual and physical, always of the deepest personal touch - of elevated souls, of swooping gulls and crashing waves and other passions and obsessions that are moving gentlefolk to daring displays of opposites:  emboldened ever more to show all their love across all aspects in counter balance to the building hateful and hurtful intrusions…

 

…strengthened our lovers are - possessed fully of the overall force of these Summer currents - of passions building & crashing - of their seaside corner of things full of special moments and special movements - they are finding their place from which to take it all in…

 

…as relentless forces converge and explode, stoking furies over narrow obsessions that spiral ever down and back, our two souls who dare the most, to the limit, they are rewarded with reminders that their opposite force of love is always the slower build, but the sure and vital counter, moving the sphere of happenings upwards and forward in grand emergence…

 

…with these next glimpses into our summer offerings of elsphere, a nexus is forming, a fundamental Center is growing around the sacred place they are carving within the realm…

 

…a place beyond, without limits, at once threatening and hopeful - always there, awaiting the dares of lovers across all aspects…

 

…thus a few more snips and patches are offered from the realm of pure grace…

With the brilliant morning sun behind them, the lovers carefully seat themselves on the rocky high plateau of the cape.  From here they can see all the way back to the trail head; the many elements of this beautiful landscape are nicely in balance.

 

From their vantage point, the movements of people arriving at the plaza back there blends easily with the antics of the gulls and the swirl of the sea.  The rustic assembly of covered tables and thatch huts around the beautifully tiled plaza is but one part of the overall landscape.

 

Many many times, like magic, they have lost the hectic frenzy that usually accompanies them - the renewing spirit of live and love - of elevated state - a gift of the elsprights inhabiting this sacred place -  causing all of that to immediately evaporate as soon as their bare feet leave the tiles of plaza and sink into the sand.  

 

If only the tormented ones who seem to reside there perpetually would just venture forth, even a bit - stuck and caught in their obsessions, they are but a few steps from freedom, from release of spirit - just try a shift to the beach, even if they are unable, physically, to enjoy the many paths thru the scrub…

 

…such are their quiet thoughts as they take it all in - the scene before them is  perfectly illuminated in the early morning glow.

From the popular trail head, the natural starting place for walkers and  runners - and others who simply wish to sit and revel - those same low fiery rays obscure the cape, silhouetted against the early sunrise.  A favorite gathering place, both for vacationers at this lovely seaside destination, and for residents of the nearby marvelous city.

 

Our lovers on the rocks above and their tormenters arriving below live nearby in their “village by the sea,” as they think of their unique metropolis, enthralled as they are with it’s small-town feel amid the bustle of big-time city. 

 

Outwardly silent - our lovers in their usual rendezvous high upon the rocks, they merge their inner voices via a variety of gestures and sighs and knowing touches - their shared notes thus:  there they really are - what are the odds indeed, after all, we did conspire - who is stalking who? - we asked for this - wonder what they are saying…

 

Renewed and now primed to push further - such are our lovers in their favorite place at dawn, taking in the gorgeous blend of wide, endless sea, brilliant sunrise skimming over the waves, the countless gulls and other elements of this awesome scene…

 

… yet amid all of this, a nano bit of movement below, over to one extreme, at the spot where they began their stroll, now ablaze in the early light…

 

…the focus of their distraction this morning, their other partners (as they think of them, now approaching the trail head together) - their silent musing continuing from their perch high upon the promontory:  from our past - from our very recent past - way past time to draw the line -  time to unveil “us” fully and move forward, at last…

 

…my god, distraction within distractions - look, a flash of light in the dark of the shade - our daffy/crazy ranger - there he is - he worries us to no end - pivot and focus back on our two - he is…

 

As these other two make their way from the parking area - simply a clearing of sand and gravel within the scrub - and approach the plaza at the trail head, they also find it strange, in way, that they have been lured here together.   They are longtime “significant others,” of the two on the rocks.  They have always been lovers across other aspects with their counterparts up high… 

 

…ensconced in relationships that have always been far more limited in nature, truth-be-told, than the ever deepening one of the two who have finally broken away and now coaxed them here.

 

They are quite familiar to each other from past encounters and gatherings of the four, and are in mutual contempt of their, now, former lovers.  

 

Naturally curious - nay compelled with a blinding urgency, they press each other for understanding of this bizarre convergence…

 

“He sent me a text, again - not directly asking me to be here, but sort of suggesting - so here I am - what’s your story?”

 

“More the other way around for me - we were doing our usual back and forth - trading insults - awful - I know she comes here to walk and run - with him - drives me mad - I said something smart about that - said we should meet and have it out - again - she very clearly told me to stay away - so I came!”

 

“I was more hopeful - always am.  He and I have had some really nice chats, or at least I thought so - wonderful, actually - it unsettles me to talk like that when I see them clearly together - and so happily so.  I’ve been through a lot and he really listens - seems to really care - so what is their situation - and yours with her?”

 

“Don’t know anymore - I have always thought she still cared for me - foolish, I guess, but I still do.  It sounds like, in some ways, that is similar with you and him.   But, clearly, as you say, their is more we need to know - maybe that’s why we are here.”

Our lovers are observing the happenings from their perch, their elevated vantage point - all in context of the magic of this seascape at dawn…

 

…stirred by the gulls - entranced by their calls, by their swoops and soars - a pageantry of soft, soothing notes, mixed w harsh screeches and abrupt cries - at once amusing and concerning, mesmerizing and alerting… 

 

…an embodiment of els these are, elevated inner voices and spirits in many forms - now bursting and blossoming in all manners upon the force of this emergence, up and across on one current, down and back on another - our two take it all in, allow it all in - stretching, reaching, embracing, making the most…

 

…part of the tapestry, in their view - now in rhythm with the gulls and other elements, they pivot yet again, for a time, for an ethereal space, from these divine and sublime elements and back to these other two, their nemeses - with a clarity even more than what they usually enjoy together, they understand that is what they have become - their notes join the chorus - there they are, now moving directly into the trail head…

 

…whew boy - yikes, ma’m - screeching and soaring of a different aspect is about to begin there - already the norm in that lil corner of the sphere - oooooh 

 

Thus their silent thoughts build as one; they lean into each other and erupt at the underlying joy of it - not dismissing the genuine concern, but also not missing the overall humor, they let out their irrepressible laughter, their pi aspect of their own their mutual creation…

 

…look my love - all about us are creatures in convergence - dancing of elements from just the right view - these, like ourselves, some hugging and soothing - others, like those back there, jumping and waving and darting and exclaiming in their internal, self-sustaining urgency - their antics feeds each other - yes, all part of the pageantry from our elevated view - our elsphere…

 

…before us, all around us, see, feel how, together, these other wonderful elements balance themselves on the currents - floating then diving - abruptly carving out turns, then, some of them, ever-so-gently and gracefully, allowing themselves to be carried and caressed…

 

…and then all of these others, carving their own realm within it all, their obsessions of fear and bother feeding a different intensity…

 

…absorbing all of the collective mood, our lovers reach once more, grasping that their love does, indeed matter - it is the only counter that ultimately matters - it must ever and eternally be renewed…

 

…joined once again in the ultimate quest, their passion moving them to see, face, embrace and absorb it all in balance and grace - and thus enabling for the next, inevitable rounds of trials and test - when they must, and will, be beyond their very best…

Snips and Patches of Summer - a journal of Seaside notes of ethereal correspondence - of nano bits of inner voices - virtual and physical, always of the deepest personal touch - of elevated souls, of swooping gulls and crashing waves and other fits of passions and obsessions that are moving gentlefolk to daring displays of opposites:  of their love across all aspects, and also of hateful, hurtful attacks, intruding upon this paradise at the beach… 

 

…paradise it is, glorious  summer at it’s height, especially beautiful and entrancing all around this architecturally magnificent seaside city - the white sand alone emanates loving waves of elevated spirit - taking troubled breaths and offering in exchange pure serenity - all upon the fragrance winds of ocean mist.

 

As with the rest of the sphere of happenings all around the globe, just as the warming season peaks, a crashing is occurring as these forces collide - even in this lil bit of paradise, upon the head of the lovely trail through sand and seagrass.  The delightful plaza that provides the vibrant entrance to the many winding and twisting paths through the as yet unspoiled paradise within, this lil spot of serenity is also disrupted daily by the gathering of the self possessed intent on spreading their venom.

 

Two very special lovers have just passed through - longtime partners in many ways; this haven has been a favorite place for them to rendezvous and find themselves in each other.  An essential routine - an obsession of their mutual own that has been vital to their strength and ability to face the many shocks and trials life relentlessly brings.   

 

Unbelievable the attacks they have been weathering together - facing them together for many years, they have grown to be true lovers, in their own special, unconventional way.  Their determination to finally bring their full, beautiful relationship out into the open has, truth-be-told, triggered all of this particular crisis this morning.

Their story is like many, and this first segment of their story within is offered in the genuine, loving hope that not only they, but the many others in their network of growth will surely benefit.  This first glimpse into their lil corner of the elsphere - the underlying and surrounding natural and vital complement to the essential base - is one of the key aspects that affect the the passions and obsessions that move both this awesome seaside space as well as the entire sphere of happenings.

 

Always respectful of their many other “partners,” - they do share the gift for building genuine relationships - they have crafted their own based a depth of love that is fundamental to all that they do and who they are at core - always working together to marshall their very best - and now this.

Other “regulars” are already arrayed around this popular place of convergence, even at this early hour.  As our lovers take the most open route, fully exposed to the plaza at the head behind and the rocky cape just ahead, and of course to the seemingly infinite expanse of breathtaking sea all along side.  Not a day for our usual care - time to let it all out - we have earned this - - - so run their silent, merged thoughts as they steady one another, openly showing who they really are at home with each other in this natural paradise.

In clear line of sight of them, sitting in his cruiser at this early dawn, nestled under the stand of trees at the edge of the beach, the park ranger draws one last satisfying puff of tobacco and flicks the butt out into the sand.  F’k’em - look at them already tromping around - those two lovers heading for the rocks - that usual bunch crowding into the plaza - ugh - another long day ahead w these assholes - would love to run them all over, right now - I could; I should! - F’k’em…

With increasing comfort about their mutual decision to break out, the two pause to make the most of this amazing scene - a longtime favorite of theirs, it has extra beauty and meaning as they admire the play of the rising sun on all elements of the beach.

 

Shifting their gaze from the dance of morning light upon the ocean waves to the entrance area, they immediately note the approach of two all-too-familiar figures.

 

“There is no escape, love - look at them back there, moving from the parking area towards the plaza - together!!”

 

“Incredible - what are the odds? - except that we have asked for it - even invited it - it was time to bring this to a head.”

 

“Indeed - but we need our space, our separation from and away from that madness - we all do these days, but we are fortunately blessed with the capacity to reach and stretch and venture out to gain much-needed perspective on critical matters…”

 

“…thanks, of course, to you and me and all we have built together - a pause within pauses to thank you, my love.”

 

“Right back at you… So do they, they need this view that only comes with love - love across it’s infinite aspects - this is what matters, my love…

 

“…but they are too obsessed to find it - we helped this to happen - let’s see it through - put our full selves on display…”

 

“…oooh that will provoke even more - but it is time - even in this paradise, our beautiful spot, the craziness intrudes - but we did know - we did ask.”

 

"I knew he couldn't leave us alone, but I hoped we'd catch a break, a few precious moments in our favorite spot - look out there, so beautiful this morning.”

 

“That’s just it - it is wonderful here - love this, you, even them, in a way.  We knew all of that - that mine would follow, too - we both knew - and needed this, didn’t we?”

 

“Oh, so much to absorb - and we alway do…”

 

“…that is “us” - we are good at our kind of love, and we know that for sure - so much energy when we are like this - makes us better and more able every time.”

 

“Yes my dear - our loving notes, mixing with all the others all around us in this awesome scene - our inner el voices we always talk about, it’s like they are singing this morning - singing with the wind and the gulls - aaaah, so nice - feeling bold here, sharp and seeing things so clearly - we needed to make something special happen, right here, right now.”

 

“Such a storm - both of them at once - in fact, all of them at once - see them - look - little do they suspect - rushing blindly ahead they are, all riled up, into that hyper bunch that always gathers and stays at the tables - the ones we call the parrots, the chips - always parroting, always with chips on their shoulders - they deserve each other…”

 

“…yes, watch out - they are storming right into that nest of trouble-makers.”

 

“Hey, talk about storms, where’s that daffy ranger? I feel like he is really dangerous - one of those who could actually be triggered to do awful things - all these displays, both careless and intended, push ones like him over the edge.”

 

“Yes - but the thing is that he, and our two, and I suspect most of that usual bunch, they can be every bit as loving as us - when they aren’t so consumed…”

 

“…Indeed, we are all inundated with shows of hurt and attack - even many of our so-called leaders…”

 

“…would-be leaders, you mean - they alway Trumpet their leadership credentials, but the examples they set is fundamental to their kind of leadership - they master their displays of hate and hurt and harm and they rise upon the passions it stirs - such awful examples they set - ones like our ranger actually take that to heart.”

 

“And the rest of that group gets themselves all wound up - unable to fend off venom and ugly noise, they just add to it - their obsession.”

 

“Look at them together, all of them back there - they easily found fellows, even in this awesome place.”

 

‘aaaaargh - we’ve earned this, all of this…”

 

“…and they all need it, all of what we can see - displays of the alternatives.  Come closer love,  turn away for a bit - that will wait and will alway be there - but it’s “we” - “us” - this right here that is so essential, vital.”

 

“Indeed,  this we need to push on - enough of a glimpse for now - let’s seize our moment — love does matter - we, us, all of us need to push back against that madness - let’s keep walking.”

 

Climbing and balancing on the rocks overlooking the beach and endless waves, as they have done many times before, usually alone, but today, this morning, they were beyond themselves, at their own critical point, needing above all else to push their relationship forward.

 

Knowing their strength and vision together, seeking ever more the clarity that only can find together, they press on, taking it all in…

MAGIC OR TERROR?!

A CHRISTMAS IN JULY HOLIDAY RENDEZVOUS

  

Tucked away in the back corner of the quaint lil café immediately off the Square, with the perfect air of this crystal clear July day softly drifting in thru the wide open front, are our two loves, Abby and Josh. 

 

They are totally absorbed in each other and the thrill of meeting again in the midst of the bustle of this popular gathering place, this lovely clearing in the big city, filled with grass and trees and flowers, plus an artful and thoughtful offering of walkways and benches that today are packed with revelers for the week-long holiday that has become the Independence Day celebration.

 

Totally in love and in the moment of their rare rendezvous, safely “hidden” amidst the happenings all around them, yet even so, they sensed it right away - the change. 

 

In the swirling and sifting currents of moods out in the main open space of the garden park, something new and at odds with the predominate holiday glow was happening, and they picked up on it even as they huddled close in their nook.

 

Their inner el selves, coaxed out by their absorption with each other, now combining with their masterly skills of sensing and connecting, as well as with the wily sprights enlivening this beautiful setting, are heightened and tune with all aspects of the realm - there has definitely been a shift.  

  

They were in full indulgence with each other - their carefully constructed rendezvous finally commencing only minutes ago as they found themselves among the crush of folks converging on this gorgeous day and in the mood to celebrate and connect.  

 

This is one of their very favorite times of year - a special sort of holiday, this run-up to the 4^th of July, with throngs of families and friends jamming the city, and in particular this historic Square – such a thrill for them to be a part of it!

 

They had plunged through the crowded holiday buzz and frenzy of activity out in this delightful blend of a lovely park and prime meeting space.  Intrepid as always, they united and pushed on to this sheltered spot.

 

One of their gifts is to be able to juggle many things, and that was being tested in terms of wildly differing happenings and sensations here today. 

 

Added now, intruding all of a sudden on the general holiday joy and glorious chaos, was this new thing, a kind of grating feeling – barely perceptual, subtle, easily ignored, but creeping in nonetheless – and it was working against their own deep and overwhelming satisfaction of being together after a long absence, as well as in opposition to the overall mood.

 

Amazingly, there was a common rhythm to all of the many holiday agendas, varying as they were, adding a marvelous glow of shared spirit to the awesome beauty of this setting.

 

One way or another, it was a very special time and place for connecting and celebrating.  The shared joy of celebration, the glorious heat of the season - not yet a burden, but rather a welcome respite from yet another long winter - and the magic of the city and this particular haven within it; all combined to produce a shared wonderful spirit.

 

Like its winter counterpart, this holiday-time - this summer Christmastide - imposes a welcome departure from grinding routine, a forceful expression of “detachment with love” and “joie de vivre”, creating  a virtual separation from one “normal” and a replacement with coveted aspects of renewal and growth.  

Josh and Abby witness this fully as they allow their gaze and indulgence to grow with the shifting of moods - love is certainly in the air - the same the glow of a beloved day at the beach - the elsphere, and elsprights in all of their embodiments, and their ethereal spiders - they all touch and weave in mercurial ways, emerging in force on special occasions such as these…

 

 …their force saturates all elements - they know by their own loving touches, extended and facing and embracing their lil corner of things…

 

…thus they are primed and peaked to immediately “know” this new current, this shift in the shared sense of revelry, the substance of the ethereal space all around.

 

This other place, spiritual and vital - the natural complement to the everyday bustle and bluster - in eternal ebb and flow of counter and balance, filling and surrounding and sustaining with the deepest, knowing touches, expressed in a vast swirl of notes of silent intimacy and serenity.

 

In company with our loves and their own magical place together, such love across all aspects composes the essential elstate that is there with us all the time, hiding in plain sight, and now, energized by this holiday spirit and in this magical setting, rediscovering and triggering an elevated spirit that is empowering and transforming.

 

Thus is the nature of this festive week, this Christmas in July – and on this beautiful stage today, this marvelous annual celebration is being played out.

 

Josh and Abby have very carefully chosen to combine their rendezvous with the many others occurring at this joyous time; it being both easy to mingle in with the mob, and thrilling at the same time to share in the excitement.

 

This was one of their favorite spots and seasons, and until this new development, all was transpiring as they had hoped and discussed at length in their many many chats, virtual and in all of the forms of “real” communication - what they fondly refer to as their own modes of  correspondence…

 

…for, as they often note, it’s their exchange of words via a wild array of means, thanks to their openness to venture and grow their abilities together, interactively, that has enabled their deepest and most personal selves - their inner els -  to emerge in loving concert.

 

Thus it was with extra intent and focus that they peered out at the main space to second guess themselves about the change they had both noticed. 

 

Amid the frenzy of celebration and connections, it was easy to miss anything and anyone in particular; a prime reason for their own desire to meet here again after so long, “in the flesh” as they have playfully anticipated in their discussions.  

 

Who would notice their beloved reunion along with all of the others, and all the other distractions in this packed array of summer play, as well as another new normal, a “reality” also of this age, the very obvious security?

 

Modern pen-pals is how Josh and Abby often refer to themselves, because of their excellent use of all of the “social” means of connection; the underlying written form of communication offering the potential for a superior insight into thoughts and moods.  They had found themselves to be masters of this timeless art in its’ current forms - a most joyous discovery!

 

Masters upon masters of such elevated spirit there are, and of the ultimate passions beyond form and limit that drive the sphere of happenings…

 

…they all, instinctively, stoke and nurture such missives of genuine care - the correspondence of our lovers merges of in close company with that all of the closest brethren - building and growing the charge building building in the realm within realms…

 

…Deneen and Nathan, giving into and daring to venture forward upon the many pathways of love, compose a vital nexus amid the swirl things all around.

 

Long would be their discourse on many subjects; they had broken down and through all barriers, opening up new depths of feeling and intimacy in the process. 

 

Now together in person, they find their written and verbal selves intermingling in a delicious new eloquence, with their merged thoughts on the happenings going thus:

“Like a turning of the wind, a redirection of the soothing waves, and an alteration in the patterns of the gulls, a new rhythm is being introduced.”

 

Such flights of thought they fancied and loved; so great to do so & hug at the same time!  They heartily agreed on this summation of their feelings, and that “our moment of intimacy is now shaken.”

 

They looked closely towards each other, reveling in this rare moment to be truly together, to actually touch and savor each other, all too soon to be over, but they also opened themselves to the happenings beyond.

 

“Something clearly has happened.”

 

“At least some of the people we can see are reacting as though something has.”

 

Whatever was going on, surely it broke their spell, and while they are not alarmists at all – quite the opposite, actually - they are extra gifted in the capacity for insight, and thus, tuned in to the shift in mood.

 

Another gift they share and in which they have helped each other to grow is that of “stretching” – adding paths upon paths – capacity upon capacity – maintaining contact with their own space while adding vigilance of others beyond.

 

“Some erect walls to shut out all else; we seek to throw down all that inhibits “seeing” and we seek the vast world all around us” – another of their long practiced, mutual trains of thought.

 

“We both heard something; we know that for sure.  Look, hardly anything has changed, but, there, see that couple over by the display, watch their expressions.”

 

“Yes, they are on alert, like us – they were intently staring at their cell phones, but now are looking over there somewhere.”

 

“And there, that group in line for the food vendors; they are looking in the same direction – we can’t see where from here.”

 

Josh got up, walked to the entry, studied the crowd, “I don’t see anything in particular.  There is a big mob over there, but it’s like that everywhere, and except for a few like us, everyone seems to be just going about the normal craziness you’d expect at this time of year.”

 

“Most are, like us…. but, you know, for sure, every mob has a few trouble makers just doing their usual inciting, playing on fears.”

 

Rejoining Abby, “Something happened, that’s for sure, but, really, beyond some confusion and surprise, and those, like you say, trying, deliberately to build a madness, it seems okay for now.”

 

She put her hand on his arm “Ok – there’s something’s happening right here, with us, isn’t there?” 

 

They exchanged looks – a bit evil, yes – full of pure joy, for sure.

 

“Absolutely!  We really need to do this from time to time.  Our chats and notes and messages are wonderful, that’s for sure.  We get into so much, don’t we?  But to actually be together is amazing.”

 

“Indeed on all counts – after all of our virtual talk, we don’t need a lot of words right now, do we?”

 

“Not at all; we connect completely”

 

They have found themselves to be true masters of it, the modern means of connection - it’s so totally empowering!  Their long discourse and correspondence has spanned many stages and followed so very many complex paths in each of their own lives.  They have lived quite separate lives in traditional terms, and yet have completely shared their lives with one another via their own intertwined, incredible journey.

 

Hard – nay, impossible to pigeon-hole – no nice neat straight line nor simple box in which to fit this grand work, this tapestry they have woven together.

 

Such are the paths of their discourse, mostly in written form over many years – electronic writing, as the many crazy means of connection is this age truly are – bizarre and frightening for some – extremely powerful and life changing for those who embrace.

 

“We have to actually touch every so often.”

 

He put his hand over hers, “It’s incredible what we talk about and share.  It’s become essential for us, but we also need this.”

 

“We have no barriers at all, no limits – it takes my breath away.”

 

They shared deep sighs together, “We always have to be so careful, and we are, but my God, mmm mmm,” Josh offered, as they took each other in.

 

Modern explorers they are, in their own minds – another of the topics they have mused on at length – and students they are of all of the arts, including that of writing, which they have utilized wonderfully, and  seekers of all that is new and extraordinary and awesome. 

 

Truth be told – the special beauty of this vibrant Square was also a key factor in their choice of it as today’s meeting place.  Beyond the physical setting, there is clearly a special vibe at crazy busy times like this - not a routine day, but a wild outlier this place becomes during the holidays – such is part of the attraction for them as well.

 

They love the bizarre mixes of activities and extremes of interactions – including their own extreme desire for quiet, private time with each other – and are now finding it amid the most hectic of public spaces – ah the joy!

 

Some love the noisy tussle of life, others the quiet solitude that can also be found sometimes.  For Josh and Abby and all of their close brethren – their network is wide & deep! - all of it is a blast; all aspects of life becoming essential ingredients in the rich stew of the sphere of happenings – and it is all in play today in this overriding setting of joy – bring it all on!

 

And so, even with all of that, like a disturbance in the force, the harsh reality is that something is now intruding on all so gathered – whether they have noticed yet or not!

 

Intrepid folk they are, Josh & Abby & their kindred elevated souls.

 

They truly love this beautiful gathering place, and appreciate its’ charm and magnificence.  It balances, perfectly, a richness of spaces and forms, and the hustling of city dwellers and visitors and their companions to and fro with a richness of awe.

 

From their earliest days, they found in each other a passion for the art and architecture of the world, and it has fueled their life-long endeavors, from their choice of colleges and majors, and then in their careers.

 

Now, such is as much a hobby as anything, but it adds yet another vital feature to the magic bond of their special relationship.

 

That is how they view and value what they have built for themselves – a very special relationship.  Like all great constructs, full understanding is key to appreciating – and they and their counterparts seek such with a passion.

 

Physically, the idiosyncrasies of their lives have kept them mostly apart, but their extraordinary skills of both pure closeness and total openness, plus the ability to merge such extremes has fueled their enthusiasm to share all with each other.

 

“Ours world is wider and deeper, thanks to one another.  Fully a part of the base sphere of survival, plus also providing a rich array of additional vantage points from which to participate in life’s journey – at once parallel, elevated and detached – like multiple perspectives from an infinite palate of focal points.”  Yet another of their constructs.

 

“Let’s make the most of each other; with whatever is happening out there, this could end at any moment.”

 

“It always seems to be that way; however and whenever we connect.  We are builders my love, constructing our own special places, vital to how we handle everything else.  Like this assembly here today, it is at once infinitely vast and multi-dimensional, and also completely confined to the narrow points of the tangible and the actual.”

 

“Amazing isn’t it - we are still able to talk this way huddled together in person.”

 

“We always do this; build on each other.”

 

As they paused to enjoy this, each absorbing each others’ presence, sure enough, there was another wave of the new and increased movement just outside the café.

 

Interrupted again, straining to turn away from each other and look, once again, they instinctively moved even closer, snuggling tighter, fiercely hanging on to each other as they faced the now clear, or at least more apparent threat.

 

“What are the odds? At the exact moment that we manage to be together, something disturbing really does seem to be going on out there.”

 

“Suspicious, really - so much of this these days - I bet there is no “there” - just fears and weak minds feeding on each other - aided, malevolently by the hucksters and enragers, ever eager to make the worst of things.”

 

“Indeed - they play on what people want to believe - in this case, some act of terror.”

 

“Ahhh - but we have the perfect counter here - us, all of us, all of us elspirits so gathered - our counter is pure magic.”

 

“We are used it, love – not in person, but look at our lives – full of disruptions as you and I maintain our correspondence, often aided and abetted by the sick few who delight in tearing and dissing.  Truly, it’s our constant connection that helps stabilize all of the rest.”

 

“It’s so very weird, like us!  But yes, in a strange way, it fits our pattern.”

 

“Surely.  It defies any easy, simple, neat description.”

 

“I get a kick out of how that very fact, and our obvious closeness, how it really bothers a lot of people.”

 

“True, but we aren’t really doing anything wrong.  Our appearance together may suggest otherwise, but only to those who don’t understand.”

 

“Of course we are a couple - we look like it, and in our way, we are - but there are many ways….”

 

“…endless - unlimited varieties - all real - all true aspects of people getting close - helping, each other…”

 

“…more - part of each other - that’s really it - so many ways…”

 

“…all on display!”  They burst out in laughter, beaming.”

 

Love it - love us - love this time and place - we just fit…

 

“…ahh - part and fit - now that is intimacy - and this is the perfect setting - look around - look all around - it’s everywhere today…..  mmmmmm, except….”

 

“…yes, except - definitely a current - a disturbance - anything really to it?  I doubt…”

 

 

 

“…we both do - but there is something - becoming routine - expected - so perfect, but now, how can this be happening?  Is it really?  And what exactly?  Terrorism?   Unreal!!”

 

To be totally accurate, there were already anomalies, particularly that of the overabundance of security personnel, with their prominently displayed armament, but Josh and Abby, along with all of their fellow revelers, seemed to channel that somehow.  

 

The dominance of the overall joyful mood put all in place and balance.

 

Their inner selves were speaking - joined and empowered.

 

Warming body and soul together against the appearance of threat, they also understood the additional cover this increased craziness gave to their own.

 

“A beautiful craziness this is – hopefully this new wrinkle is more of a distortion, hyped by everything else today,” encouraged Josh.

 

“Agreed.  Our own craziness is what counts!  I was running so late and was worried about finding you in the crowd – but I spotted you right away!”

 

“Same here – no worries at all – you know that – it is amazing how easily we found each other so quickly.” 

 

Thus they moved seamlessly back into their own moment.

 

“Oh, Josh, our rendezvous is really on, isn’t it?  I love this lil café – I keep expecting it to be turned into something else.”

 

“Yeah, me, too – it’s still the same tiny nook it’s always been.”

 

“Let’s make the most of it for as long as it lasts.”

 

Thrilling, really, as they enjoyed each other.  Silent now, both of them full of thoughts of finding each other all over again!

 

He was a mix of emotions as he entered the old Square for first time in years - used to be everyday - to see her again, actually face to face – so excited, and a bit anxious.

 

She was careful to look around for familiar faces – unlikely she thought, but can't be too careful.  As she raced past the throngs, this was foremost on her mind; her world with Josh is in play every day, as a background and grounding to all the frenzy of life.  Today, this takes over; this and he are center stage in her world as she emerged into the plaza at the center of the Square.

 

They delight in constructing and building ideas upon ideas - places and spaces of the mind and soul - no such thing as too complex and ethereal - the more the better.  In each other they have found a life partner to share a world beyond - scary and thoroughly invigorating.

 

Their thoughts are as one:  “Today is our climb to the mountain top, a new and awesome chapter in our excellent adventure.  Today is all about “in the flesh!”

 

They saw each other at almost the same time - Abby as she raced and plunged ahead into the wonderful confusion, and then pressed ahead for the lil cafe at the back corner of the happening, and there he was!

 

Josh, just barely in place just a moment earlier and having scanned about into the many corners of this fav meeting spot, and seeing that she wasn't there yet, turned and peered about into the crazy swirl of people - catching her eye her as she worked her way through the crowd.

 

Their embrace was total, but quickly over in care for onlookers, and so into the café they went and their rendezvous was on!

 

Never, ever - not once! - do they have to suffer thru that initial, awkward moment - always, even after prolonged absences - for these two, it's always pure joy at the instant of contact.

 

Always a thrill - comforting and invigorating, both - each time they rendezvous!

 

Thus they shared their thoughts, in person this time!  Totally absorbed in each other, they also glanced again out through the opening.

 

“Nothing new out there – clearly some are reacting to sounds and movements. It could be something dire, but it could also be a lot of hyped people feeding on each others’ reactions.  Many are still oblivious and unaltered.  Look closely, nothing really is happening beyond that.”

 

“I’m still suspicious - so typical these days - take the time and effort to cut thru it all - thru all hype and bluster - and there is nothing there - nothing but fear and confusions and an empty exploiter or two.”

 

“Look here dear, something is definitely happening right here my love” and she leaned close, put her hand around his neck and kissed him.

It was mostly by chance that they met at all years ago.  Wandered they did into the same electronic chat room, both filled with curiosity and a sense of adventure; surely there was a powerful mutual force at work.

 

That is how they often refer to it in their discourse, the very real force that tends to draw matched souls towards one another.  Such they know each other to be.

 

In that electronic fantasy world, among the swirl of falsehoods that pervade, these two were there in true displays of daring and urges to discover, and immediately they sensed that in each other.  

 

They found each other amid the confusion, standing out in positive, comforting ways in their manner of written expression - the underlying foundation of virtual chat and much of social media.

 

From that very first encounter, they reaped the rewards – learning much about themselves and each other in what was immediately a magical sense of touch and of being touched.

 

Deep intimacy is what they felt in that first private chat into which they ventured off the chat room, somehow finding both a capacity and satisfied need in one another.  There was no stopping them; the “force” of their new relationship overtook them from the start and they were powerless to resist!

 

Today in this summer holiday, in this Christmas in July, in the frenzy of this season - amid it all, in this cozy corner off the famous Square, our two dear loves are huddled and deep in to sharing both the many memories of their “correspondence” and the thrill of the touch.

 

They understand the typical reactions to their virtual relationship, and to their obvious display of intimacy when they dare to actually meet.

 

Frightened, alarmed, unsettled, hostile – just a few of typical reactions to such activity.  Others surely get it, understand it, know it – the virtual medium opens many doors – primarily of the mind.

 

Josh & Abby learned immediately that they simply had what it took to thrive in this new age, and found their adventures intoxicating.  In each other they “knew”, somehow, instinctively, that they had a true mate with whom to grow and to share in the discoveries of this whole new realm.

 

Their physical meetings have been few and rare – this one amid the bustle of the holiday mood has been way too short but surely the best of all. 

 

All of their many ways of connecting work together - no dividing lines – all melding and merging – such is the foundation of their marvelous relationship!!

 

Part also, of course, was their natural skill at the “chat” – the electronic correspondence of our age – it was brand new to them, but it was clear from the start that it brought forth strengths and aspects of themselves, and via their interactions, enabled their inner el spirits to emerge.

 

Emboldened by each other, they have braved other similar networks in an ever expending dimension of the sphere of happenings.  They have built a realm within realms, one that has become vital to all else.

 

Ever vigilant, back to the main space their attention resumed, their shared thoughts:  “Like an intrinsic wave, the mood is being altered, terror is intruding….”

 

“But is it real?  It is for those who are clearly upset and anxious, but beyond that, what, if anything is happening?”

 

They both get up now and step towards grand space of the Square…..

 

……the heavily armed soldiers and others more concealed break their formations and initiate movement that arouses attention…..

 

…… much of the crowd of revelers is maintaining status quo, but more and more, just like the two of them, notice is taken, heads turn, expressions shift…..

 

….. the news cycle is full and hyper with constant alarm and threat – constant also is the quandary of how to react…..

 

…..cell phones are checked, very serious officials look grim and are clearly alert, trying not – not yet – to insight……

 

……and there are now unmistakable new sounds working into the echoing and reverberating atmosphere  - clearly a popping, cracking – and, faintly, far off, yet – even a scream……

 

……is it “real”?, should we move?  it is alarm just feeding on itself?!

 

Working as one, they stood on guard and took it all in, torn between reacting and studying, they maintained a heightened alert.

 

While some were clearly turning to panic, many others were like themselves – fully in tune, yet concentrating on absorbing as much as much as possible before making a decision.

 

Such is the world – the quick drawing of battle lines at the slightest impulse - divisions between those taking reactionary response and those deliberating.  In any given situation, either or both could be optimal.

 

Their way is in the aspect of both – such is vigilance in this age – and thus they resume their rendezvous while staying completely in touch with all lines being drawn.

 

Once more they retreat to the back corner of the cafe and resume their own touch - whatever was happening out in there grand wasn't truly affecting them – not yet - not if they didn't let it.

 

They drew their own lines, their own rays of life, their own web of strength via each other, trusted in it completely, and in this extreme moment of awareness and decision, they let themselves go and immersed themselves in it.

 

True and deep knowing was their reward for all that they had built together, and they knew, somehow, magically, with absolute certainty, that this was the path to take right now.

 

It's Christmas in July after all and they were safe and quietly at peace in their nook, the beloveds so gathered.

 

Yet another reward for being true to themselves in each other:  as they reveled and stayed fiercely elevated, the terrible urgencies seemed to dissipate - and to have miraculously peaked, been isolated and found out for the exaggerations they were, and now were melting away, or at least ebbing.

 

Such is the world; they shared smiles and relief, and ever more faith in each other.

 

Their steadfast absorbing of all was, once more, yielding the gift of balance; all aspects were being put, once again, at least for the time being, in their place.

 

Not forgotten nor ignored, just relegated in tune with this special time. 

 

It's a holiday after all, Christmas in July, and all is where it belongs…..

 

.....fleeting, save for what moves the soul and is therefore a guiding light forever.

 

An aspect of Christmas it surely must be, for this surely is an Epiphany - a revelation that is working out so wonderfully. 

 

This, both Josh & Abby thought - quiet now, leaning close.

 

"We did it again, didn't we?" he says.

 

"It does seem to have passed, the alarm - yes, my love - good we deliberated.”

 

They knew something had been wrong, knew it wasn't right, but also knew their inner voice and trusted and listened - and now are vindicated.

 

Surreal all of this merging, this joyous season, this awesome space - magical - their long practiced skills excelling in this moment.

 

Tis the time of silent beauty amidst the fray; finding the quiet in order to be heard while enveloped by frenzy.  

 

 This precious time is all theirs.

 

Placing his hands on top of hers, already stretched towards her love, they breathed in rhythm and reveled.
